my friend and i went to feed my neighbor's cat while she was away, and its a black cat, and we heard it say "help me" over and over and then we pulled out my friends phone to record it and it stopped and then after we started the recording, it began to say my name over and over. and then as soon as it appeared in our sight it meowed like a normal cat. then we hear the garage door open so we hit to close it with the portable thing. later when we were going to leave, the garage door was open, and we shut it. is this paranormal or just our minds???

i went over yesterday and it did the same thing without my name...should i check around the house???? it also only happens whenever i am downstairs and can't see it upstairs.

well we're gonna go check it out incase someones in the house making the sounds 4 the cat cuz the voice sounds different from the way it meowed...it sounded almost human...no joke.

There are too many unexplained things that happen for everything to be a coincidence.
I had a cat who lived under my bed (her choice, she was wild) who passed away from pnemonia. Every once in a while I hear a meow (just one) from under the bed. And no other of my cats are awake and there isn't any logical explanation.
Another weird one is at least once a week, I come home and there is toilet paper in the litter box! None of my cats have EVER played with toilet paper, and it is out of their reach. And there is no one else around. Go figure.
Did you ever play and meow at your cats and then you find your self meowing at them in different tones of voice.... like a cat from beyond is talking through you? (I know, I question my sanity too!).
So who knows about your neighbor's cat? I'd say para-normal is not so far fetched as it may sound.

Mostly likely it was just the way the cat was meowing sounded like "help me" just like a cat I saw on TV awhile ago said " I love you ". It could have been a certain meow to get your attention and once it had it ( you were there with the recorder) it meow a different tone. Then again, it may actually be talking.

I had a cat that had 6 kittens. I had to keep her in one room with the door closed, because she kept hiding the kittens. She would stick her nose under the door and say (I want out) over and over again. She also loved to play in the bathtub with a ping pong ball. She would go into the bathroom and turn on the light, then get in the tub and play.

I do believe in the paranormal, but when I hear things like this I think you're having a prank played on you. You did make it sound pretty freaky though, the hairs on my neck ALMOST stood up!
If I experienced this myself, I would think I'd got a touch of the schizophrenia (hearing voices and all) but this wouldn't be a surprise to me, I don't know about you.

Cats can learn to mimic sounds we make. They dont know what they are saying but they will copy what they here. They can also open doors and turn on light. They're really smart.

Maybe you heard it in a way that can't be recorded and the cat wondered why you didn't try to help it

HAD A CAT YELL OUT WHAT SOUNDED LIKE HOWARD WHILE IN HEAT. ANOTHER NEXT DOOR SOUNDED JUST LIKE IT WAS SAYING MOM. BOTH WOULD INSTANTLY GO SILENT WHEN YOU CAME CLOSE ENOUGH TO RECORD THEM WITH ANYTHING. I BELIEVE THEY JUST SHUT UP AS IF TO LET ME KNOW I WAS NOT WHAT THEY WERE CALLING FOR SO I WOULD GO AWAY.

One of my cats sounds like a baby crying and at other times he sounds like he is saying mama. could just be me wanting to hear that but hey, it's amusing!
