Hm well - you don't actually have to know anything medical to be a top contributor, you might just be good at getting people to believe you, doesn't mean you're giving good advice! Though I admit I haven't seen a top contributor talking rubbish on here yet.

Yahoo Answers is good for getting training tips, emotional support, that sort of thing. I'm glad you're pleased, but if you ever suspect your pet is ill or injured, please do not rely on YA for medical advice - that's a vets job. I always tell people this in my answers - I guess most like this advice!

Top contributer isn't really a status that a person is better at one topic or another in comparison.

Personally, I just happened to stumble on the title and have gotten a lot of thumbs down votings since.

It just means more questions are answered for people on here. As great as the advice can be on here, I'd still always check with veterinary staff or professionals off the net as well.

There are a lot of people who care for animals like us. I have one wonderful cat and 4 dogs, so I have a lot of experience with animals. I also worked in a pet store, takeing classes on giving instructions for sick animals, and there are a lot of people like that!

Cats own us, not the other way around. If I didn't help others with their questions, my cats would divorce me. Plus we love our cats so much, we can't stand the thought of a kitty in need with no help.
