I have a young fiesty male cat--about a year old. He's really a wild man most mornings, anxious to play and eat. In fact, if I don't watch him, he eats the other cat's food. But this morning, he is sleeping. When I opened the food, he didn't get up. This is very odd.. He won't play. He isn't purring. and he definitely missed breakfast. How worried should I be? The nearest vet is over 60 miles away. Should I rush him in? What possible reason could there be for this behavior?
Thanks for any thoughts.

I left the milk out for her and forgot to check if it has gone off. Usually I always check but that day was very hot. and milk went off and she drank most of it before I can take it away.

Anyone know of a free or inexpensive place to get a cat neutered? We "inherited" a very friendly abandoned cat, and I'd like to get him neutered. I'll pay if I have to, but we're pretty tight on money. I know there are free services for feral cats; are there any for ones that are going back to homes? I live in Mesa, Arizona.

I recently received a 4 year old cat from an owner that had allergies. She kept the cat as long as she could but her alergies got the best of her. I've had the cat for 2 days, and shes done nothing but hide under the couch and in the bathtub. Shes letting me pet her just a little, but she is still very timid. Her pupils are dialated, and she hasnt eaten or used the bathroom in 2 days. Should I try to get her to know me and interact with her or should I just leave her alone and let her come around? Thanks

My cat had a stroke at the weekend, she's 19, she's doing well but got to go to vets again on Friday I'm worried about what he will say. Her back leg went weak and she kept falling down but thats ok now, she's lost some reaction in her right eye but is not bumping into things. What would you do?

my cat is a neutered 2 year old boy and he refuses to use the cat flap. we instaled the cat flap a few weeks ago but he just refuses to use it. when it was first put in, we left it propped open for a couple of days and he got used to going through it but now that he has to push it open, he wont use it. he has started going to the toilet in the lounge. is he just lazy or is there something i can do to help him get used to it?

OK..When we 1st got our cat (6 months ago now) she was always meowing. Then she settled down.

She became slightly overweight so I gradualy fed her less food (like I said gradualy)

Now she is mewoing a lot, I check her food and its useraly half full. I dont know if she is in pain or what. But she doesnt look in pain.

Why do you think my cat is mewoing a lot??? (she is Tonkanese)

For the past three nights my cat has been biting me really hard! And i mean deep enough for blood and bandages. Yesterday he bit my leg and there are 2 long red scars. And he just took a nice chunk out of my finger. Tonight when he did it he was laying on my lap purring and i pet him, and then he just had my finger in his mouth. What do i do? Also, is it bad that i put him in his crate right after he did this? I dont know what the heck to do but he is terrorizing me :(
please help!!!

When I was younger I always wanted a dog but my parents would only let me have a cat. I always treated my cat like a dog except I never took her out for walks because she doesn't like it outside. I trained her how to sit when I tell her to. Do most cats do this? Everytime I try to video tape her she doesn't listen to me but as soon as the camera is off she listens. Why do think this is? It's like she knows she's being video taped but she's just a CAT.

Well my friends got a kitten for their 3 year old daughter for christmas. They were trying to be nice, but it seemed like a bad idea from the start... children and kittens as cute as they look dont really mix...
Well now the kitten "bites and scratches" (hmmm surprise surprise...) and i am not sure if they mean normal kitten playful behavior, or if they mean that the kitten has grown agressive due to the child being a little too rough with him.
They are not sure what they should do about it. What do you think they should do, give the kitten back to the humane society or keep it and try to work through their problems with it possibly (though i did not get the details) being afraid of their kid? I am just trying to help them here...

I got my cat neutard today and when i came back to pick him up the girl told me he got really aggresive on the table and they had to box him (how was he aggressive if he was supposed to be knocked out???). when i took him to my moms (was neutard in her area). He was growling and hissing, things i had never, never, ever seen or heard him do!!!! He tried to scratch and bite. He had been playful like that but never "aggressive" he's better now at home but why did he act like that???? what should i do now thats he's neutard so he's not in pain. My cat has been squinting her left eye for a couple of days now. I've been dabbing a paper towel with lemon juice, salt and warm water. It helps but has not cured her totally. What is it that she has and can I buy some medication at a pet store for it? It's hard right now to spend on a vet for us.

My cat loves to play with balls... the cloth kind with catnip on the inside. She actually plays fetch with them. Anyone have a cat that plays fetch? I swear she thinks she is a dog. :)
