i have just fitted a cat staywell cat flap and the wind is howling through it even when its closed

Well, first I should say that I don't have an answer but I can tell you what I tried that didn't work. I have had the same problem. I tried attaching some rubber weather stripping to the top area but the door kept getting caught on it when the cats went through and then it was always open. I tried taping a cloth over the outside of it over half the door and that didnt work because the wind just went under it. Its definetely a flaw in the design and I hope someone answers this because I want to know too! I will be watching this question. Thanks for asking.

It should have some sort of rubber insulation to keep the wind out. The rubber attached to the flap creates a seal around the hole in the door thus keeping the drafts out.

Get rid of the cat and cover up the hole
