there's a giant 8 legged beastie running round on the rug. I have tried to encourage my cats to take notice and eat it as I'm terrified of spiders but they are still lying by the fire looking unimpressed. I thought cats were meant to chase them and eat them. Are my cats defective?

At first, we thought he had earmite, because he was constantly scratching his ears and there was black stuff in there. . .so we'd clean it out and put in the ear mite medication. . .it seemed to be clearing up and now seems worse, he's been on the earmite stuff for almost a month now. . .What is this stuff?? It's almost like a black wax, but he's constantly scratching at it, making his ears sore, so we clean them out. . .but its gross. . .What can I do about it??? HELP!!!

Lately my cat started chewing my plastic shower curtain so I have little teeth/bite marks all down the side of it. Why would he do this all of a sudden?

Lately my 16 year old cat has been vomiting about 4 or 5 times a day, I'm worried about him but I think I may know why. For the past few months we have been giving him Moloxicam which is a medecine to reduce the pain on his arthritis. However we ran out rust a few days ago and are waiting for a new subscription. Since we didnt want him to be in pain for the last few days we took the cap off the bottle and fed him some of the more concentrated medecine that formed at the bottom. The vomiting has started about 1.5 days after we started doing this and has been going on for almost 2 days (we stopped giving him the medecine). What I'm wondering is if you agree with me that the more concentrated medecine may be causing the vomiting, and If a trip to the vet is still necessary (Hes old and vet trips are rough on him), or if it will just go away on its own. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Note: The medecine never made him vomit before until we started the concentrated amounts.

I'm planning on getting one. How should I prepare? I've taken care of a stray cat when I was a child. How are they different? Any other things that I need to know just tell me. I want to make sure I'm prepared for a persian cat. thanks...

We have a male cat that was neutered in September 2005. He loves to attack her, but it seems like he is wrapping his arms around her, trying to possibly mate. He definitely stresses her out on a daily basis (we are giving him to a friend on Sunday to have).

Her stomach is a hard and he back nipples seem to droop down. She is EXTREMELY affectionate, almost like she is going through heat.

My cats coat looks kind of greasy and unhealthy. What kind of food is beast for healthy coats? She is currently eating Royal Canin kitten food because she is nursing, but her coat doesn't look very good. The pet store has so many to choose from. Thanks.

I just had my Persian cat goomed. When they shaped his face, they trimmed all of his whiskers down also, they are only about 1 inch long. Is this normal?

Birds eye cods steak cooked in butter. Little sod.

Do you have a pet that you consider better fed than you at times and still they give it the thumbs down and go drink water out of a puddle instead.

I have a siamese cat that has really long claws and she doesn't seem to know how to control them. She doesn't have a scratching problem, she's actually really good about scratching on the scratching post and I would NEVER get her declawed because she is like family and I wouldn't ever do such a cruel thing to someone I care so much about. But she is always getting her long claws stuck everywhere when playing. When she spreads her paw to grab toy or what ever it maybe, her claws get stuck In the carpet, blankets, clothes etc. Her claws have split a couple of times from trying to pull herself free. Any suggestions?Should we get her claws clipped?

I will be moving the very begining of june. My cat has been living with her half brother(7yrs old) and her nephew(4yrs old) for her whole life. She doesnt seem to like the boys very much, but I am wondering if she will be lonely? What should I do to make sure she doesn't get depresed? She's never been an only cat, but she is very anti-social. She loves me and my fiance but not anyone else.

I was thinking about getting her a lot of toys. She cant have any now because the dogs eat them. Would this be good?

Hyperthetically speaking, you're all alone in a room:
1 good healthy cat
1 metal spoon
2 chopsticks
1 bath sponge
lighter fluid but no lighter.

the choice is yours...

I know it might sound obvious to vacum them up, but a lot of the time it doesnt work. Does anyone out there have a different way of getting rid of their pet hairs? My cats are black and white and it will only get worse when the malting starts!

My cats are 2 and 5, both spayed females. They fight all the time, chase each other around the house, and hiss. They never get hurt, but just the same, I still don't want them to fight. What can I do?

I have a three year old cat called Jess. (yes shes black and white). I have a another cat who is 9 months old as well. Over the last few weeks she has been peeing on my bed and bathroom mat. I have had her checked at the vets and all is fine. I have started closing the doors so she cant gain access to them, but manages to get in when I walk into the room, and does her business within ten seconds of being there. I have brought her a new litter box, tried numerous different types of litter, gave her loads of fuss and attention but still this keeps happeing.

Does anyone have any advice????

Hi everyone. This is the most recent of several questions that I have asked about my cat Frodo. I recently took him into my apartment and we've been having some trouble. He's had several UTI infections, but recently the vet diagnosed him with idiopathic cystitis and put him on Elavil. (Elavil is mostly an anti-depressant but also has anti-inflammatory bladder effects in cats.) That works fine, when I am able to give him the pill. :) He seems to be happier. But anyway, recently he's started licking his butt frequently. He's not peeing everywhere or having trouble with urination or anything, but I'm concerned about this frequent licking. Is it worrisome enough to contact my vet?

Thanks, guys. You guys are such a big help. If you have any questions, just feel free to skim over the recent questions I've asked, it's probably covered there.

I think it's making my kittys eyes water. sometimes after he uses his box his eyes will water. it isn't gooey or gross, just normal looking tears. I'm thinking it could be the litter i am using, which seems to work the best to cover up the smell cmpared to other litters i have used, so any suggestions on a different litter that will work just as well & not make my cats eyes water? and is this a possible reason his eyes water?
