I have a cat that is not quite a year old, and when my daughter lays down anywhere or goes to sleep "SPOOKS" (the cat) jumps on her and bites on the blankets and pulls them off of my daughter. Is this normal? I have no clue, this is my first cat. While she is biting the blankets, she is stepping all over my daughter, like she is "nesting" or something, but she isn't pregnant. Please let me know if any of you have any ideas about this, it gets kind of irritating sometimes, and she only does it with the 4 year old. Take care all! :)

I adopted a cat a month ago from the shelter. He let me hold him there and then he was fine. After I brought him home he became very shy. He now lives in my computer desk and will only come out once I get into bed and shut all the lights off. If I try to apporach him while he is out he will either run away or growl at me. He will now let me pet him when he is in my computer desk(his hiding spot), and I spend a good amount of time doing that. I also put treats right in front of him outside his hiding spot and he will not come out no matter what I do. I also tried moving his food directly next to my bed but he wouldnt eat it. How can I get him to come out of hiding and be more friendly?

We have two cats... what is my saying? Cats make the house smell like a f**king liter box. And guess what? It drives me insane because I refuse to invite anyone at the house because I am afraid that they might smell something that I may not have detected. The girl cat is annoying (she is supposedly mine), and she is always acting "weird". The boy cat is OK, but I think that the whole house would "smell" and feel better if they were gone. I liked my house way better when they weren't here... so, what can I do? I always mention "letting the cats go", but my mom gets all pissy at me.

This happened to her about 2 months ago and i brought her to the vet, she spent the night and they did test on her like blood work and such and when i went to pick her up the vet said they don`t know what was wrong 200.00 dollars later. She did not through up while she was their and did not anymore after that untill now. Has anyone ever had this happen to 1 of your cats. I have 7 and only the 1 is sick. Please help.

I am actually asking for a friend. She has an old sick dog that she is taking care of, and her neighbor, who does not take care of his cats, lets them roam, and they are starting to hang out on her porch, walk all over her new car, and do their business under her porch. If these cats were in good health, it wouldn't be an issue, but she said that their eyes and nose are draining and look infested. Can a dog get what ever the cats have, and is there anything to "mark" her territory to keep the cats away. The owner of the cats is not a real nice man, not easy to deal with. Any and all suggestions besides causing harm to the cats are greatly appreciated. Thank you

My two cat's hate the drive to the veterinarian office. I'm sure most do. I'm not sure what they hate more the drive to the vet or being sick. I already take them to the closest place to my house, but they meow like the worlds coming to an end. Any suggestions are making them more at ease?

I have a neutered male, 3 years old. He seems a bit loney, sleeping a lot, yet a very family oriented cat. I have been thinking of getting him a little friend, though am concerned as to which gender would go best with my male cat. I am very worried about upsetting him, not wanting a friend, though, again, he seems like he could use a friend. Please respond as to which gender would suite my neutered male, 3-year-old ,cat that I have. Also, he was adopted at 11 weeks. He is absolutely a great cat!!!

Hi, I have a female cat whom we keep in the house. I guess somehow the neigborhood male cats have found out and have been spraying outside our front and back doors. It's really nasty and I was wondering if there was something I could do to keep them from spraying or just keep them away from our house. Thanks so much for your help!

I've used this for years, the scoop kind. Lately it's not just dusty, but it has enough that I have to sweep up every day. Is yours like that? Its so bad, I want to change brands. Any suggestions? I prefer a plastic container, it's easier for me to handle, I'm in a wheelchair. It has to be scoop, I can't dump the other kind.

Hello, my cat has a bit of a problem. A few years ago I cut the tips of my cat so she wouldent claw at the furniture and claw at me when I tried to give her a bath. Ever since her claws have been really flaky and break apart. She doesnt bleed unless I try removing the flaky parts of her claws myself. Usually they will just fall apart. Her claws are really dry too and her claws just keep flaking. I don't know what to do, we thought about getting her de-clawed but its going to cost us a fortune since it will cost money for the de-clawing and the vet would also have to remove the debris in her claw. Any ideas on how to fix this? Its mostly a problem with her front claws. The claws on her feet grow back pretty normal though.

My cat is a 2 year old healthy, neutered male. He has had all his shots, and is a well-fed, indoor-outdoor pet. Occasionally, I have detected the most horrible smell from his bottom - it is not urine, and it is not feces. Once he jumped up on my lap, and the smell was so bad it got into my clothes, and I had to change. I have read about blocked anal glands, but I know nothing about this condition, although I've had cats all my life. Could it be this, or perhaps he's gotten into something outside and eaten a dead animal? Any helpful feedback? Please, no silly answers...Thanks in advance.

My female longhair always tries to point its tail into my face whenever it walks by. No matter what, when it walks to me it positions its rear so that it will brush against my face. It was funny the first 2 times, but now it is awful. (Especially when I'm on the computer.)
