I thought that maybe she was lonely so I got her another cat to play with. She is still doing it. I dont think that she is in heat because she doesnt show anymore signs of being in heat. What else could it possibly be?

My cat is acting weird. He usually prefers to eat in the garage with all the door closed (we have two dogs that want his food). Lately though, he eats a few bites and wants to come right back in and then go right back out again. Finally I sat with him in the garage while he ate. The whole time he kept acting like he was hearing things and then he'd act skittish about eating for about 30 seconds or so.

He still loves being pet and he still curls up on my bed at night. He still is a great mouser and he still can hold his own when the dogs bug him (they don't try to eat him or anything...they just get overly playful.) I don't know if I should be concern or not! This is my first cat ever...I'm becoming a big fan though...so good for stress relief!

Why is it that everytime I'm sad , it makes me feel better , I'm petting my cats, everytime I'm sad , they jump on my lap and start purring and looking up at me.

He is pretty old, had him for 16 years, and it feels like he's losing a lot of weight. He was throwing up, then I switched him from dry food to soft food at the advice of a friend who said that old cats can have digestive issues with the crunchy stuff, and he is keeping that down hasn't thrown up since. I know he is old, but is this just signs of him getting old, or should I take him to the vet?

My cat which I loved dearly, passed away from a brown snake bite. I only let her outside once or twice a week, because there are so many bad things for her to play with, so I was really protective of her. On the day that I decided to let her out, this is what happened. Why can't I forgive myself for letting her outside???

My wife decided that our housecat is not for the house, so she turned him out. Other cats have been attracted to our house since we put catfood outside and now he knows that the attention is not there like it was before. It has gotten to the point now that he chides away from us and even avoids letting us touch him. This makes me wonder if he is turning wild. Is this possible?

Phoebe, my cat, has recently started going on the living room floor. She does not urinate on the floor though.. I don't know if it is a physical problem or a way to express something. Recently she was hit by a car and had to have one of her legs removed. She gets around great. Her litter box in upstairs and she does not have problems going in it. Since the accident we do not let her outside. I have tried to take her out on the back porch with a leash but she wanted no parts of that. She sits at the door and meows alot thinking we will let her out but we don't. Does anyone think that maybe she is pissed off and doing her business on the rug is a way of getting back at us. I am at my wits end with this. I don't want to give her up but if she insists on going on the rug I just might. I love my cat and I would like to know what other people have to say about this.

She was declawed about 3 months ago but didn't really start this behavior until recently so I don't think that's a problem. The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is that she has really fuzzy paws. The fuzz covers the pads of her feet and I think this might be the issue but I'm not sure.

is taken and placed in a small crammed clear box for the rest of their lives. It is a clear box and the cats never leave I believe.

We will be moving in 2 weeks and, of course, things are actively going into boxes now. My oldest cat has been acting extremely odd lately. One moment she is very loving and the next minute, she is hissing up a storm. Could this move be affecting her in a negative way? My younger cat is doing fine with all that is going on and I am sure cant understand why her big sister is so moody lately.

What can we do to help my older cat? She is normally very calm. We know she is not ill. But we are very concerned about her.

Serious replies only please.

Why do cat's pupils change from narrow to circle? Is there a different reason than the lighting?

My female cat is now about 8 or 9 years old. Her litter box has been in the basement since the day I brought her home. The only time she has ever done her business somewhere other than her litter box was in the middle of my sons bed after he got rough with her while they were playing AND when my other son left his cat at my house for a couple months until he got settled in a new apartment. (My sons cat tormented my cat) So the other cat has been gone for about 4 months and we've had no problems until now. Nothing out of the norm is going on right now so there's no reason for her to be rebelling. I'm getting ready to put in new carpet but certainly having second thoughts right now...I mean she just urinated all over my new couch yesterday.....TWICE!!! Need some good advice......HELP!!!

I watched a friend's cat and the place smelled fine. A week or two after the cat left, I vacuumed the apartment and the smell of kitty litter became came out. It was fine before but after the vacuum, I think it may have heated up some smaller kernels of litter that got tracked into the carpet, and that's what caused the pungent smell. I tried Febreeze, but it didn't do much., Any ideas?

This is 2 questions. My cat had her babies today and it has been about 2-3 hours since her last baby and she passed her placenta.
They are doing well and nursing a lot. They all nursed so much they have fat tummies now. LOL But she still hasnt gotten up to get any food or water and I have brought it to her and she doesnt seem interested. She seems fine though. She is just purring and sleeping and letting the babies nurse. She will move around and groom herself and clean the babies. I was just wondering when will she get up to drink and eat and also I was curious what age do the babies open their eyes?
