Where do they put the microchip? Is it the back of the neck? Can you feel a lump where the chip is after it has been done?

Well its a random question, but my cats are very affectionate and cute, they are sisters and both are girls named Lotty and Tootise and when Lotty goes to kiss Tootsie or play tootsie just scrams her! For some reason Lotty keeps going back for more scratches! They both love each other and are not enemies but why is this?

I have two male cats. The one who keeps his tail straight up is the newer one and I just think that it's odd and would not be comfortable for him. What's going on?

We just moved and my cat will only occasionally use her litter box! The litter box is downstairs so she goes on the downstairs rugs, like the rugs at the front door and the bathmat in the bathroom. Now we have to throw out all the rugs, so now she just goes where they use to be. Somebody help!!!!!!!!

We have two cats and one litterbox. Yeah, yeah, we should have more, but we did for a little while and the second one was largely ignored.

We switched litters a little while ago. King Fussypants didn't like it, and took to dropping loads outside of the box. Not always, but most of the time. Curiously, right next to the box, and he'd still try to bury it a bit. Quite a mess.

We finally got a box of the old litter last night, but before we could switch back (and we are worried that's going to cause a new fuss), he took a pee right outside the box -- on quite the little pile of litter, bizarrely.

If he just doesn't like the new litter, why'd he bother to (fairly) neatly make a pile of it outside the box to pee on? I'm amazed...

(Our other cat hasn't made a single complaint about any litter we've used. They are both "fixed.")

He's a bit scratchy and bitey right now, but he is so much fun, I love him to absolute pieces and would be heartbroken if the operation stole his spirit.

Can any cat owners put my mind at rest?

My cat is 7 years old. She used to come around all the time when we had our first dog, a Shih Tzu, but stopped after we had to put the dog down. We now have 2 golden retrievers and my cat will not come down stairs on her own.

We've brought her down ourselves to get used to the dogs, put her collar and lead on but she doesn't want to stay. We've recently moved (not because of her) and thought that might help, everyone coming into the new house together at the same time but no. She doesn't show signs of fear of the dogs, she's just not interested in being around them but she's right at our feet when we go up stairs.

I feel so bad her being upstairs alone but I don't know what else I can do to make her come around and see us.

my cat is very emotional. when i went away for one week last summer, i had a pet sitter here. my cat refused to eat. then when i came back, she got diarhea all over the place for 2 weeks.

recently i went away for one night. she looked completely destroyed and depressed. her eyes were miserable. and her hair looked terrible. and then she got a little diahrea again.

the next day, she is so happy.

i just feel she is too attached to me. im worried, because there are going to be times when i cant stay here with her. thats just the way life is.

im kind of afraid that if i leave her, shes going to die one of these days. she kind of has a psycho expression on her face sometimes like shes going to die when i leave.

no its not in my head. i have another cat and he doesnt care about me one way or another. she is a very unsual cat. i dont think its good for her to be that way.

what do you think i should do?

My boyfriend and I just got a cat about a month ago from a shelter - they said he was up to date on shots and all that stuff but we should take him to the vet to just get checked out and get any more necesssary shots - we also need to clip his nails. Problem is - he is in hiding and will only come out at night!! Should we just grab him and put him in the carrier. I'm scared that if we grab him and bring him to vet when we get back he will be even more scared then he is now!!

We just got a seven week old kitten from a shelter yesterday. He had been brought in the day before. Since we got him home he has eaten some wet food, drank water and used the litter box. He is crying a lot. I realize that he may be looking for his litter mates and his mom but it also seems like he is looking for something to suck on. He didn't seem to know what to do with dry food so we fed him wet. Is he weaning from his mother? If you think he is, please let me know what to expect. I estimate hes been away from her for two days. He seems very affectionate and normal otherwise. What's going on here?

I live in Malaysia and in Malaysia there are only two famous brands which are Whiskas and Purina. I now give my cat Purina but when I looked at the ingredients, it said that there are a lot of grains in it. I also heard that cats can't digest grains properly. Now, my cat has soft poop and it's like it has diarrhea. My cat is a stray cat. It also eats cooked chicken and fish. What should I feed my cat, Whiskas, Purina, or cooked chicken and fish?

I now have this scratch mark on my face :(

Is there any way to make the kitten behave? At least stop scratching and bitting people?
