my cat used to be an outdoor indoor cat so she used to get a lot of exercise. Since we have moved she doesn't like to go outside because of the neighbors dogs. She's getting FAT. We have put her on diet dry food but it doesn't look like it's working. We feed her once a day and the cutting back hasn't helped either, any ideas?

She's probably about 8 months old and an indoor cat, and I definitely want to get her fixed soon, but I was trying to wait until my guy started his new job so we'd have more extra money floating around...just so you guys don't think I'm a bad cat-mommy!

She's meowing A LOT and she's normally a silent cat, but she's not rolling or going to the door or putting her butt in the air like some people say she should do if she was in heat. She's been like this for about two days, and she's been getting the same amount of food, water, and attention as usual. If I meow back at her, she'll come running to me and rub on me.

So what do you think? Is she in heat or is it something else? And if she is in heat, should I just scrape up the money and go ahead and get her spayed ASAP?

I mean like bother her when she's sleeping...or pick her up all the time..it's just so tempting. I heard that they get nervous and it shortens their lives...

we recently inherited an older female calico cat 10 yrs from my husbands mom who passed away.. We already had 2 cats 1 female calico 4 yrs and 1 male about 2. we've kept the older one seperated from the other 2 about 2 weeks now and the male seems to want to meet her more than the other female. I so worried that they might fight with each other. Our 2 cats are not outdoors and she was, I think she's ok with that part but so far its been one or the other little by little interacting. When should i open the door and say thats it? (the older cat is in a huge family room downstairs with her belongings on the sofa, I think she really likes it there. but she needs to come up and interact. (cats have been spade or nutered) pardon any misspelles.

My cat has had diarrhea for over a month now. I have tried metronidazole, liquid diarrhea meds, and de-wormers on him and nothing is helping it. He doesn't appear to be in any distress and it doesn't seem to bother him but it worries me. I don't have the money for an expensive vet visit right now though. Can anyone tell me some inexpensive treatments I can try until I can get him to the vet?

My kitten will not stop meowing! He is well fed, watered, played with, more then loved, clean litter box! How do I get him to stop wandering around meowing? It's driving my roomie and I nuts. He seems to be doing it for no reason. We have tried using a water bottle by spraying him when he meows for no apparent reason. He doesn't like the water bottle and will stop while it's visable. As soon as he runs out of the room he will start again. Please help!

I think my grandma's cat has a thyroid problem, because the cat weighs 13 pounds even, and in spite of having her on weight loss food for several months and a drastically reduced diet, she has not lost an ounce. I'm very worried about her. Her measurments are as follows, she is 24 inches long from her nose to the base of her tail, her circumference is 17 and 1/2 inches, and she's a medium sized cat. However please do not answer something like "Don't feed her at all that'll do it!" Because i do not find that funny, nor do i find helpful. Adult mature opinons would be most apperciated.

I'm thinking of adopting a kitten and need to know if a male kitten will try and mark it's territory by spraying. Are female kittens better for any reason?

I have a female cat, she's about 2 years old and very anti-social. She only likes my husband, I think she just "tolerates" me. She is fixed and front claws removed but she still hisses and bats her paws at me, or anyone else. A friend of mine just took in an abandoned kitty and I would like to take it from her but I am not sure if this is a good idea. The kitty I want is a male and I would get him fixed and declawed as well. Is this a good idea? Any advice?

I have had cats all my life, but now I have two 5 month old kittens. They have never puked before today and now one of them has been puking since early this morning. She has probably spit up about 12 times. Is she sick do you think? The cats i have had before throw up a lot but i think its because of hairballs....My other kitten is just fine, its just the one.

I am keeping my cats, but the problem is, one is about a year, the other is 7 months, the older one was found on the street when he was about 5 weeks old, and before i moved in with my husband, his cat slept in the room with him, which was fine, but now im 38 weeks pregnant, and we have the baby's bassinet up, and his cat insist on sneaking in, and crawiling under the bed, and no matter what i do i cant get him out, so i have to go to the bathroom grab a water bottle, and try to get on my belly to try to scare him out, and my husband doesnt seem to understand why i get so upset, its like my cat isnt allowed in, which is the 7 month old, so why is it he doesnt get upset when im yelling at his cat to get out, but he gets furious when mine sneaks in, i treat both cats the same, why cant he? i mean the kitten was my other cats baby, and we decided to keep him, because my mom cat and his cat fought, so whats wrong here????

he had to have the tip of his tail amputated because he attacked it so frequently & so bad that the bone & nerve & tendons were sticking out. (we tried avoiding it, for months we cleaned & bandaged it every few days, but he still got to it) afterward, he had to have a cone on to keep him from it, and he's been good for a couple weeks. but today he started going after it again, so he was scolded and the cone put back on. but then he started attacking and chewing on random things--the blinds, a sweater that was hanging to dry, etc. he doesn't normally do such things, but he seams all freaked out & psycho, like he can't stop. he would momentarily stop & look when he was scolded, but immediately go back to doing it, running off as i stood up to move him (so he knows he's not supposed to chew on these things!).

is he psycho? can cats have ocd? what do i do?!?

Ok so my cat freaks out and just runs around and starts attacking feet and biting them and he also jumps on top of you and attacks whatever he can.

Question: Is there something seriously wrong with my cat or what.

I have to have my litterbox in my bathroom. I am so sick of the cat litter being all over the floor.I thought about toilet training them, but I am not sure how realistic that is. What creative things can you think of to help out my litter box situation. Thanks for helping.

My cat constantly eats and then a little bit after throws up undigested food. She has been doing it for years (her whole life I think). My vet doesn't seem very concerned, she's not losing weight or anything. We've tried changing her diet to get sensitive stomach food, which helped a little bit, but not much.

What can I do? It doesn't seem to be harmful to the cat, but its really disgusting to deal with on an almost daily basis!
