Well, in the first place all male and female cat needs to get fixed, the reason why , they wont get any desise, and they will live longer, a male cat wont run off finding a female cat , and wont get her pregent, Sometimes it will make them stop spraying, but most cat's it wont help. But if you get any cat, please get your cat fixed, I feel so sad for all those cat's and dogs in the SPCA, that are put down , cause pepole wont take the time to get thier dogs and cat's fixed.

A male kitten that has been neuterred before it starts marking territory will not spray. Most female cats don't spray, unless maybe they're in heat.

Yes, a male cat will spray after being neutered, a female may or may not spray, but it's unlikely that a female will. However if you get a male cat, and get it neutered, there is always the chance it will develop a life threatening condition, in which it i believe it gets kidney stones and cannot pee, however I'm not sure that is entirely accurate, my uncle does have a cat, that had that happen to him, my uncles cat almost died as a result of this and they had to rush him to a vet and get emergency vet services, but i forget what it's called, and also i forget the specific symptoms.Ask your vet about specific symptoms.

As long as a male kitten is neutered while he is young, he will not learn to spray. Once he has begun to spray, neutering may help but it may take some time until male hormones to subside before he stops.
Female cats go into heat, which means constant howling, strange behavior and possibly preganancy. So females need to be spayed to prevent these problems.
As long as kittens are either spayed or neutered, either sex is fine as a pet.

My male still marks his territory and he is 13 years old- I had him fixed when he was about 6 mos. It won't be the stinky spray that smells almost like a skunk that unnutered males have but he may still urinate on things to mark his territory. If you don't want to take any chances you should get a female. I also have a female & she is just a sweet little girl! She never goes to the bathroom anywhere but the litter box. I don't think that any gender is better but you have to live with their habits.

Neutering should stop any spraying. We have three spayed females (had two others, now departed) all spayed. The females seem to be just as lively and are/were quite loving. Haven't had a male in years, but as I recall, they might be a little more standoffish. Just make sure when the male is neutered that you watch for urinary infections. We had one where the vet botched the operation. Eventually the poor kitty was paralyzed in it's hind quarters and died.

Male cats can still spray even if there neutered when young, take it from someone who has owned cats all my life. I have one male that was fixed at 6 months who had never sprayed before neutering, but has sprayed since, not alot, but he will spray if he smells another male cats spray, or if he feels the need to tell another male cat hes the boss. they may or may not spray, neutering them does not guarantee them to never spray, although it is not as common as a un-neutered cat. i also have a male cat that was neutered at 1 year old who has never sprayed, before or after neutering.

One reason for neutering a male cat is so they won't mark their territory, but some still feel the urge anyway. I prefer female animals, cats and dogs.
