Nope not in the least I do the exact same thing nothing makes you feel better faster than a soft, furry, purring kitty they could put therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists out of business real fast if only the rest of the human race would slow down a listen to the purring.

Cats are the best as they just seem to know when your upset or if you are sick and hurting. They will comfort you every time. I have had a medical condition going on for the past six years and I have a lot of physical pain every day, some days are worse than others.

My cat Honey seem to know when ever I'm having a really bad time, mostly when I'm unable to fall asleep. She will come up by me and lay as close to my chest as she can, she will then start purring as loud as she can. It's like she knows that it makes me fall asleep.

I will wake up and she will be laying some place else and when she knows that I'm awake again, she will come back over by me and get really close and start purring loudly again. She will keep doing this no matter how many times I wake up.

I tried seeing if she would do it if I wasn't having pain and she wouldn't come up by no matter what I did that day. However when the pain really was back so was she, she is so sweet.

So I think that cats can sense when we are upset/sad or even in pain, and they love to comfort us when that is happening. I think that's just how they are and what they do, they are pretty neat creatures to say the least.

I'm glad that your cats make you feel better when your sad. God Bless!

Not weird at all!
That's one of the most wonderful things about owning animals. It is a proven fact that your blood pressure drops while you are petting your dog or cat. They are the most awesome friends in the world. My dogs that I had as a teen always knew when I was sad. Big puppy kisses always made me feel better! My cats now always make me feel good. They play and go crazy and make me laugh. They all greet me at the door when I come home from a long day and I feel so special that these animals think so highly of me.
Enjoy it!

Not wierd at all. Many nursing homes have a cat or two that live there. They roam the halls and visit the residents. This has been found to be uplifting for many people so you're not alone. When I had surgery and had to stay in bed for a while afterwards, my cat stayed right by my side the whole time. She was such a sweet cat.

not at all weird. Their purring, even if it can cause asthma sometimes, is very helpful mentally and can comfort you and gives you a feeling that it loves you wants to lessen your sadness or fear. It is asking you to pet it when it looks up at you. You feel comforted by looking at it and it feels comforted by being petted. They claw on you, rub against you and what not. All because it loves you

Your kitty loves loves you, and that is a beautiful thing. Cats are smart creatures and when they sense something is odd they try and comfort you as you have comforted them. I went through all the awkardness of both Jr and Sr High with my old kitty Pester and when my mother passed away I don't know how I would have made it through without that cat. She always just knew when to let me just cry and when to come up love me. May God rest both of their souls.

cats are very comforting, soothing, and loving and so are some dogs

whenever I am sad my cat licks my chin and snuggles up to the side of my face and whenever I have cried in the past, the dog licks my tears away...they are wonderful and so loving....it is goog that they make you feel happier and they love you like they do...enjoy them and the attention!

Cats purr and make you feel like a whole lot better than what you were in. The cat itself doesn't want you to feel miserable, that why they come to you and purr, so you should take the time to feel better.
