Why do you want a cougar? It is a wild animal and if you get one, which I really hope you reconsider, then one day, it could flip out and kill you. It happnes when people stupidly try to domesticate wild animals. Leave the cougars alone and get a dog or something.

First of all you will have to have a USDA license. This means that the government can, and will inspect the living conditions of the cat at least once a year. I do not know about your state laws, you will have to check into that on your own. However, you can locate where you can purchase such an animal through the USDA, they have records on everyone who legally owns/breeds big cats, therefore they can point you in the right direction.

You have to be kidding! Are you nuts? Why and what for? Frankly, if you do manage to buy a cougar/mountain lion/puma, may it shred you because you are clueless! Get a basic house cat and work your way up and may that house cat shred you because you will still be clueless.

I don't know about Ohio but I know there is a reputable breeder in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Try this site though as they probably have the best information for you.

If you had enough information, resources, training and licensing to adequately care for a couger, then you would know where to acquire one. Ohio? Good luck.

Why?..they are a very dangerous animal. Plus I do believe they are not legal to "buy"...unless you are a zoo etc....They are best left in the wild and protected...but not kept as a
"pet" as you seem to be considering.....They are sometimes seen in our yards/driveways where I live........but unless they harm/attack..we live and let live..you don't cage or try to domesticate an animal like this......GET a dog/cat/gerbil/goldfish...etc.
