I will be moving the very begining of june. My cat has been living with her half brother(7yrs old) and her nephew(4yrs old) for her whole life. She doesnt seem to like the boys very much, but I am wondering if she will be lonely? What should I do to make sure she doesn't get depresed? She's never been an only cat, but she is very anti-social. She loves me and my fiance but not anyone else.

I was thinking about getting her a lot of toys. She cant have any now because the dogs eat them. Would this be good?

I think it might be best to wait and see how your cat settles in to your new home and all the changes that will bring.

I previously had two kittens that were brother and sister. They had very differing personalities and weren't at all sociable with each other, though the female was very affectionate with me. The boy cat died when he was eight years old, and I was surprised that his sister didn't seem to miss him at all. I tried a couple of times to allow a stray cat to move in, but the female would not have it. I guess she enjoyed being the only cat and happily lived to be nineteen without ever seeming to want other feline company.

If your cat used to play fight with either her brother or nephew, then she would probably enjoy having some toys to get rough with. If she usually keeps away from the other two cats, then she might not be bothered by living alone. Just give her lots of attention and play games with her that she doesn't get bored.

All cats are different, so there's no predicting how she will react, but you sound like a caring owner, so I'm sure you'll end up doing what's best for her.

Make sure to minimize the stress of the move. Also, spend a lot of time with her. Make her feel safe and loved. If she still seems depressed, she may need company and toys won't replace that. Sometimes they exhibit behavior that makes you think they'd rather be an only child, but the only way to truly tell is to try it out.

well see how she gets on she may like getting all the atention from u because she dosen't need to share it with the others but if she is acting like she is lonely then you can maybe try to get a female cat.
