I think that some do. Some seem bored with their food and some may need a change as they age and their dietary needs change.
I've read articles that say you shouldn't change food and I've read oothers that say it's good to do so. I think that the quality of the food is more important than what flavor it is.
Here is an interesting article on pet food that you should all read. http://www.belfield.com/article3.html

My cats and dogs DO get tired of the same food. That is why they go off their food for awhile sometimes. And that is why they enjoy cat or dog treats so much, or beg for the food we are eating.

It all seems to depend on why an animal (human or four legged) eats. We humans tend to often eat for enjoyment, for social reasons. Cats, dogs and other animals tend to eat to survive. In the wild it is not one of those activities that is easy. Often it is the time when the animal is most vulnerable to attack by other predatory animals, so they don't worry about taste, just quantity and actually getting it down their throats.
Let me ask; if some other critter were always trying to kill you or take your food, would you be worried about variety in your diet? Probably not. Our domestic cats are not that far away from the tigers and lions we see on TV.

I agree with aGhost that QUALITY food is most important. I switch around with different canned foods all the time and it doesn't cause problems with my cats. I also don't agree with Dr. Barfield that you should not use raw meat. My cats have had a home-prepared raw meat diet for seven years and there have been no incidences of their suffering from "contamination".
You can use cooked meat with dogs and you can't with cats as any cooking destroys taurine, an essential amino acid for cats. Dogs and humans can make taurine in their own bodies - cat's can't.

They eat for neccessity, not for pleasure like humans do. The food supplies them with nutrients and subsides their hunger, so they are happy with it.
Also, most dogs get other food except their dry food, such as wet food, treats, and bones. Their dry food and water bowl is kind of like most people's pepsi and pizza. Every dog I have ever met gets very excited when you give them new treats with different tastes.
Another thing is, if you change the food, sometimes they wont eat it, or it gives them diarrhea. Dogs are hibitual animals that run on instinct.
If you feel bad for your dogs, go out and buy him some Bacon Strips. Dogs don't know its not bacon! ha

Most animals don't have the same desire for a different meal on a regular basis. For cats and dogs, it often upsets their stomach and makes them sick to have different foods all the time.

My dogs do. If we buy the same kind of moist dog food all the time, they won't eat it. We have to buy different kinds and alternate them, but they'll eat anything. They love veggies (carrots, peas, corn)...very strange dogs.

well I bet if you expose them to better food, they'll get spoiled and they would have preferences. Just imagine if the only food that existed in your life was a boiled potato with no toppings or seasoning, you wouldn't get tired of it because it is the only food you know of that exist, you wouldn't know what taste means.

Maybe they do, its hard to tell. I give my cat a selection of flavors and textures of food and there are some he likes better than others.
