I have two 5 month old cats.I stay in the centre of town near busy roads so i want to keep them as house cats.I live at the bottom of a flat and everytime i open my door they run out. There's a cat flap on my back door so they will be able to get out.I don't want to keep them locked up in a room all day ,i'm fed up chasing them about the close everytime i come home. Also if they do get out would they find there way home?? Thanks

She was a difficult labor for her mom cuz she came out backwards. There was another baby born who was dead and it looked like they shared the same placenta but she wasn't in a sac when she came out. The dead kitten was severly underdeveloped. Now she acts like she can see only from the horizon up and her head is very sloped in the front. She is 3 months old and the sloping seems to be getting worse. Aside from the physical signs, she also exhibits strange uncatlike behavior or exaggerated cat behavior. I'm worried I might have to put her down cuz it almost looks and feels like the top of her head is actually caving in. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

I am planning on getting my dear kitten spayed very soon, but I've heard it's not all that safe to spay while she's in heat. I'm not completely sure of how a cat in heat acts (she's my first cat :]), so I'm not really sure if she's to that stage yet. Thanks for the help!

I have an 11 week old Tortoiseshell kitten, and it seems like she's been bouncing off the walls nonstop for the past week! She used to sleep a lot more, but now she's incredibly hyper whenever I'm home. Her pupils dialate and her fur stands up; then, she attacks everything in sight and gets running so fast that she can't stop herself. I've never seen a cat run so fast in my life...she's a little furry blur!!! She almost hurt herself running across the back of the sofa and falling into a wall! She also won't snuggle with me as much as she used to. If I try to pet her, she'll assume I'm trying to play with her and start clawing/biting my hands. I do play with her....I roll her toys around and I have one of those "fishing pole" type toys (which she loves). I don't give her catnip and one of my friends suggested that tortoiseshells are much more active than other colors. I'm a first time cat owner and I'm concerned...please help!

My 1 1/2 year old male cat vomits after eating wet food. He eats and digests dry food fine, drinks normally, and has no outstanding bathroom issues. He has an occasional hairball, but that seems to have worked itself out (there is never hair in the vomit after eating). He will eat the wet food (never more than a 1/4 of a small can) and vomits within 2 minutes of eating, but seems normal afterward. We have stopped giving him wet food for now, but this affects our other cat also, as we are no longer giving him wet food either. Any Ideas?

On June 6 2006 (06/06/06) my mom bought a black cat that is simply evil. His name is Poe which I just found out means "Dark Soul". He waits around corners and attacks people with teeth and claws, won't sit on your lap, cuddle, or let you pet him at all. Last week I was standing in the hall talking on the phone and he jumped up and grabbed me around the waist and gave me 2 big deep scratches. This cat is pure evil and he just keeps getting worse. Is it possible that he could have a serious mental disorder? I mean if it can happen in humans then why not in cats too? Are there any really good books to read about feline behavior? I am 6 months pregnant and worried this cat may make me go into early labor! Any tips you have would be much appreciated, thanks!

My male cat is neutered, but my female cat has not been fixed. These two cats are siblings. My female cat, is currently in heat. I recently saw my male cat, stand over my female cat, as if attempting to mount her. Is this playfulness, or are they attempting to mate? Should I be concerned?

Ok well I have a male cat about 3 years old and when ever im cooking food or offer him something to eat, he ALWAYS gags. Yes, gags! When he was younger, he never did this. I would offer him some cheese or milk, and he would eat it but now he just gags! The only thing that he will eat without gaging at is his own food. Why did he suddenly start this?

I know he needs to go to the vet. But I was wondering if there is very serious that needs immediate attention or could it wait a few days till I get paid. I don't have the money right this second. Anything I can do in the meantime to help comfort him?

After over 2 years our cat stopped using his litterbox. He uses it to urinate (fortunately!) but now he'll only defecate on the garage floor and sometimes on the carpet.

We keep his box as clean as possible, and even tried a brand new box in case there were old smells we couldn't get out. We use the same litter we always used, & have tried others, but it makes no difference.

This began after a bout of diarrhea. We took him to the vet, got a prescription which cleared it up, but it seemed to freak him out when he lost bowel control. He acts like he's afraid to go at all, now. But maybe that's got nothing to do with it.

His stool now seems harder and drier than it ought to be. Don't know why, or if that's related. He's been eating the same food he always ate (nothing on the recall list) and the vet didn't find any parasites.

Whatever the reason, how do we re-train him to use the box again? He just doesn't seem to care. He thinks the garage floor is now the proper place to poop.

My 2-year-old cat has blood in her stool periodically. I have taken her to the vet, but it was gone at that time. It looks like fresh blood and I saw what looks like a bit of fur gone from the side of her butt. The only thing she gets into is plastic bags (which I have to hide, but sometimes she manages to find a hidden one) and this did coincide with a chewing of plastic... any ideas on what else this could be? I don't want to take her back when there is no blood (there isn't right now) and they didn't know what it was 3 weeks ago. Could she possibly have hemorrhoids like humans do??

I need advice on what people think is fair. I live in a small rural community and the lady who owns the house opposite has a cat phobia. I have 5 cats. They only use their house as a holiday home so are up maybe one weekend a month. Recently someone moved in next door to her and bought 3 cats with them, and I was led to believe they were leaving because they felt penned in now. HOWEVER my next door neighbour has just made me feel really bad as she is good friends with over the road, but she just said "I am really P*ssed off actually as now we dont know who we will get moving in opposite" and I now feel like the "bad guy". Apparently the lady with the phobia feels like my cats are always staring at her from the windowsill. When she comes up i try to keep all but one of them in so they dont go in her garden, this woman has never spoken to me personally about this at all and we have exchanged hugs in the past and got on well. She is very "old school" and wont try hypotherapy HELP

I took in a lost kitten a couple of days ago, and my house alsready has some fleas that my previous cat(now, lost) left behind. I hear that kitty is too young to take any medications or flea control products. Any "home remedies" that will get rid of the little punks?

When my cat gets outside, he rolls on the pavement, is this just marking his territory?
Anyone else's cat do this? It's rather cute.

Also when my cat sees a laser pointer he makes this odd little trill, is he trying to tell me he sees something?
It's also rather adorible.
