Coat them in baby powder, it covers up their different scents, and try to get them to bond first, like eating off the same plate. Put some treats on a plate and have them eat together, or lay out some catnip for them to play in.

Sometimes cats of different ages fight a lot, but I have seen it to be true that with plenty of time, they might bond. Make sure you give them equal attention, so that they don't get jealous because that can cause jealousy (Yes, cats get jealous) and make them fight. If you play with them together (act like a cat, throw a toy, dangle a string, or even wrestle with them) they might start getting along better.

But, like people, some cats just don't ever get along. Generally they will eventually, but there's one problem in the way.
Gender.
If your cats are of opposite genders, fixed or not, they will eventually bond. But two cats of the same genders just don't always work together. But to stop them from fighting, each time they fight squirt them with a squirt bottle full of water just once and firmly say "No." And they will eventually get the point. Your cats won't always be violent with eachother, and whenever you see them getting along, treat them, and they'll learn to get along.

How long have they been introduced to each other? How bad are they fighting? Unfortunately, i don't know of any "icebreakers" that will help them. It just takes time for them to accept that they share a home, and that the new cat is not trespassing. Just avoid feeding them near each other, make sure they have enough space in the house to avoid each other till they get friendlier. Show affection to each so they can see your example.

Good Luck!

Are you sure they are actually fighting? I have a 4 year old cat and a 2 year old. The 2 year old takes off chasing the 4 year old, and the 4 year old acts upset...and hisses and growls... but then will go off chasing the 2 year old. They are "play fighting".

to get your cat to play you can buy a yarn and make it to a ball and leave so string hanging and pull it and also buy some toy . but to get your cats from fighting you can lock them in a room together and see what will happen for the day.
