hey, i have a kitten that is about 6 months old and for some stupid reason when she goes to the kitty litter tray she does her business and doesnt get the drift of covering it up. she'll sit there and scratch and dig at the side of the tray and on the ground around her tray but never on the actual litter and she'll do it for 5-10 minutes. it stinks the house out cause she wont cover it over, dont know how to teach her to scratch at the kitty litter and not the plastic and the floor.

I have 4 kittens (6 months old) from a feral (wild, can't domesticate cat) that was puny and sickly. She lived underneath the house. One night when the door was left open so my cats could go in an out and I was asleep, she had kittens and brought them all inside under my bed! She had 5 (one died. It had 7 toes!). I didn't think they would live because she was SO scrawny. Well, they did...except one is blind totally (I have to have toys with bells in them so she can hear where they are), one has 1 eye, 1 has herpes of the eye and is slowing losing her sight....but she still can see fairly decent, and one has a foot on backwards (one hind foot faces forward and one faces backwards and 6 toes on all 4 feet, she walks on 3 legs and one knee). They are all happy and have SO much heart.
Anyone else have cats that others would have put down but you saved and gave them love and a chance?

No biopsy recommended coz afraid of non-stop bleeding. Cat vomits almost dailly coz tumour may be close to stomach. Vet'll give med to stop vomit prob & ease his constipation & will examine tumour a mth later - see if it grows. Then will decide what action to take - e.g. give med / other form of treatment. Apart fm tumour, health is quite ok for his age. Not v. active now but "spirit" still ok - even resist when examined by vet. Vet said no operation due to his age - so nothing can be done except wait & see. Unsure as to how much longer he can live coz nature of tumour unknown.

Yesterday, Miss Kitty brought me a mole to look at. Little thing was still alive, but died within a couple of minutes.

I adopted a 9 year old cat two weeks ago. Since we got her she has not eaten or drank anything & she hasn't groomed herself at all. I have taken her into the vet several times & they have taken blood & x-rayed her & can't come up with any medical reasons she is not eating. They gave us a syringe & high calorie food & we are force feeding her now. She doesn't like the process at all, but she is definitely a lot more lively now. She is very loving & seems comfortable. She is using the litter box now that we are getting some food in her. Also, we tried tuna last night & she sniffed the bowl for several minutes, but then just walked away. That's the most interested I've seen her in food, but she just won't eat or drink anything!

I have a cat that is almost 12 years old (Tiger). She was always so nice and loved everyone! Four years ago I got a kitten at a cat rescue . Tiger has all of these different moods now. Sometimes she is so nice and purrs, but then she growls scratches and hisses at me. But if I take her into the bathroom she is very nice! Is there any way I can get her to be nice all of the time? Our is she like this since she's an older cat?

There is currently a FELV+ cat in the house. I was considering bringing another FELV+ cat into the house but wasn't sure if this will cause the existing cat to get sicker or increase it's risk

My cat , Jaz , is fourteen years old. He's had arthritis for a couple years. He wants to sleep in a dark quiet spot most of the day and night. I've noticed his fur seems very sparse, and he sheds alot when I brush him. His whiskers are even broken off on one side....His appetite is normal, he has a little potbelly, but I can feel his bones. He doesn't groom himself like he used to, but when he does quite a bit of fur is licked off. I have two younger kitties also. They seem fine. Do you think a medicated shampoo is enough?

Thanks, Linda K.

My stupid but adorable cat, Cracker, has gone psycho recently (strangely AFTER he had the "op") Yesterday as I was cooking he jumped onto the oven, narrowly escaping, but splashing me with boiling water!

Today I was cleaning my fish tank and changing the water and Cracker appears out of nowhere and tries to jump on top of the tank. Only there is no top as I'm still changing the water!!

Somehow I managed to grab him and stop him falling in, but knocked over a plant in the process, breaking the china pot it was in!

Then just to add insult to injury, I cut my finger cleaning up the china!!

Anyone else have a kamikazee kitten?!!!

I have a fairly old cat, and i worry about her, but at the same time, it seems like she could go on forever.

My cat is about 15 years old, i woulden't worry, but she has severe asthma (she always has since she was a kitten) She snores loudly, and wheezes but she is fine, she never complains, and she seems healthy otherwise (she is a bit fat and saggy, but after 3 litters of kittens, who wouldent be?) she was also neutered a while back, and i hear that can make them saggy. So how long do you think she has left? I am so worried im going to go home one day, and find my best friend dead. Also, any tips on prolonging kitty life would be apreciated (short of spending hundreds of dollars on a vet)

mate her, and hes been fixed. What does that mean? Right now she is just meowing her head off and walking from room to room, is she in early labor? Dont worry the males outside, but I dont understand his behavior either. He didnt do this before with the other litter, and what confuses me more is that he is fixed. Is he just confused? Thanks ahead of time for all your answers, they are all appreciated.

I have a cat who is almost at her due date. She now weighs 11-12 lbs. She has gained about 2-3lbs. I thought she would have gained more. Is this weight normal?

My cat threw up twice within 2 hours last night. he seems fine now, still eating and everything. His food is not affected by the recall and he doesn't seem to have any strange symptoms of anything else. he was just given some toys that used to belong to another cat. Can cats catch bugs from used toys? They are very clean, and the other cats were healthy (theire owner passed away and the cats were adopted out). is something wrong with my cat or is this common?

I have two cats, both of them are used to being around other animals, but at the same time can be extreemly territorial. I have seen them get very rough with other animals. Well I moved in with a friend this weekend, and his kitten is kicking the crap out of two cats twice her size. I mean shes lucky if she weighs 4 pounds, and they are both well over 10 pounds, but she comes after them and they run and hide, give up the food, ect. I have never seen something so funny in my whole life, one is hiding under the bed, and the other in the closet while this tiney little KITTEN bullys them. My female keeps coming out trying to make friends, and then gets smacked so hard I know shes seeing stars, the male comes out from under the bed looks out the door sees the other can and dives back under the bed. I know they are stressed, and I shouldn't be laughing, but I can't help it, its the funniest thing I have ever seen!

I have a cat who is 1 year old. She is a wonderfully smart cat and has never been a problem. We are getting new flooring and furniture in our home, and she makes quite a mess with the litter, and has made a complete joke of our old furniture. My husband wanted to get rid of her with the remodel, but I told him absolutely not, I would figure out something to do about her behaviors. That came down to a declaw and a new litter box. Not giving any thought about it, I tossed the old one out, and brought in a new one that is enclosed, with a door. She HATES it. I removed the door, that didn't work. I removed the lid, that didn't work. I can't put her outside now that she's declawed. We're about $12,000.00 into this remodel, and I can see my husband's point about her destroying things, but my children and I adore her and I can't imagine our lives without her. Please someone help !!!

I brought him to the vet and after finding nothing in the blood, they want to send a tissue sample to the lab. We have changed his food and cat litter but it didn't help. I do not know how long they have been this way since they were like that when we got him from a shelter, so I believe between that time and this, it's over a year.

My cat starts meowing at 7 a.m. everyday. I can't sleep and I will have to get rid of him if he doesn't stop. He's spayed and just started doing this. I have moved twice and he's become more vocal each time.
I started spraying him with water when he does it. Will this help?
