Merlin was a psycho cat who I was delighted to share my life with. One morning, it was 11am and I noticed my knees were still unclawed. I said to my flatmate Dani, 'not that I'm complaining, but where's Merlin?'. After a search behind all the chairs and even in the washing machine (he was also well known as an amazing hiding cat - more on that later) I noticed the window was open. There he was, one floor down, completely unscathed, although a little confused. He must have chased a moth out of the window overnight. On his hiding ability, I once spent an hour looking for him, only to hear him when I gave up and called his name. The little 'rrr' I got as an answer led me to him asleep underneath a plastic Christmas tree in the cupboard. Out in a hailstorm, I called him in three times. He normally came in from the rain dry. After a while, Dani came back from work followed by the wettest, spikiest kitten you ever did see and said I was a monster for not letting him in. We worked out eventually that he was chasing the little balls, but getting bashed on the head and gradually got angrier and angrier and wetter and wetter. He flung his claws into a gardening neighbour's bum when I let him out once (It happened with Dani too). I wonder where he is now? Only Dani knows!

lowl, you have a very funny cat. Don't worry about it. I dont know exactly how old it is, but it sounds young. After a few years it will calm down. All cats are different, and like to play and explore. She is not doing it just to break things, or anything, and i doubt very seriously she is crazy
Some things you may want to check into, are the cats eyesight, and hearing. If they cannot see well, they may be inclinded to do "stupid" things. Also, if a cat is hard of hearing, they will continue to knock things over because they cannot hear the loud CRASH that is usually associated with it, and they wont learn.
Some cats will change after an operation, but after a while they usually go back to normal. Really, don't worry about it. I have had cats all my life, from weeks old, to my 15 year old cat. Some are just silly, and these things happen.

Lol my grandads cat changed personality after it had an operation on its ear. Maybe your cat is having a mid life crisis? I hope that your cat grows out of his odd hyper behaviour all I can suggest is shutting the cat out of the room when you are cooking or dealing with the fish.
My dog enjoys running up and down the stairs and falls allot which is quite funny (dont worry he never hurts himself).

It sounds like you are having a really rough time. It was hard not to laugh while reading though. You've got a spunky furball. Could it be spring fever?
I have two cats that do some pretty crazy things in the spring. One thinks his tail is a mouse and chases it constantly. Good luck.

he is a bit crazy but probably sooo cute too. my boy went hyper after the op. he is now nine months old and still crazy. i have lino in my hall and he either runs really fast half way done and slides the rest or he lies on his back with all four paws in the air waiting for someone to play push backwards and forwards and slide. he falls off his scratching post. loves baths.
my female is soo calm her only bad habit is sitting on the tv and getting hot spots

I kept my kitties in a large room for a day after his op, just to be sure he would be mellow and not wacky. I'd keep him in a room for a few hours, visiting him sporadically and petting him, to calm him down.
LOL I love it when cats get crzy like that when their ears go sideways and you can see the crazy in their eyes.

My cat, Lilong, climbed into the oven as I was about to clean it. He got a reverse skunk stripe and it reminded me of the Pepe LePew cartoons. Kittens are just clumsy at times. LOL

unfortunately sometimes temperment changes after the procedure or a change in environment. you have to scold him for the oven, my cat only did that once and i chased him down afterward and he knew never to do that again. when we brought our puppy home a bout a month ago he started being really agressive with me... you just have to kind of ignore him until he's done being ticked off. lots of love when he appoarches you will remind him he's ok , i basically smother my kit when he's lovey and when he acts up i move him out of the room and ignore him for a while.

sounds like Spring is in the air! Was the op recent? It takes a while for them to calm down, but meanwhile enjoy the antics all you can.
