My cat threw up twice within 2 hours last night. he seems fine now, still eating and everything. His food is not affected by the recall and he doesn't seem to have any strange symptoms of anything else. he was just given some toys that used to belong to another cat. Can cats catch bugs from used toys? They are very clean, and the other cats were healthy (theire owner passed away and the cats were adopted out). is something wrong with my cat or is this common?

Cats seem to be big pukers, seemingly for no reason at times.
If he seems fine now, isn't lethargic, doesn't have diarrhea or isn't vomiting any more, he may have just had something from the toy (like dust or lint) stuck in the back of his throat and the way to get that out is to gag (and ultimately puke, lol).

I have three cats and it's a given that one of them will throw up somewhere, usually at the side of the bed so that when I get up in the middle of the night, I can step in it. It must be a cat joke or something.

I wouldn't worry about it though, unless other things change as well.

Chances are, your kitty snagged a piece of table food he wasn't supposed to have or ate a bug that didn't agree with him. Throwing up isn't a big cause for concern unless it happens frequently or for an extended period of time.

Yes, cats can catch "bugs" from other cats' toys, but it's not nearly as likely as him sneaking a treat that you were unaware of. :)

I doubt your kitty caught any bugs from the used toys, though it can happen. More likely he ate something he shouldn't.

If it happens again, set up a vet appointment. In fact, you might want to anyway to get his teeth cleaned: Sometimes that can cause upset tummies in a cat.

Good luck!

its normal. they do sell cat grass that you can grow in doors . cats usually eat grass outside to settle their stomaches.
