Cats - March 2007

My kitten got stuck in recliner, then was acting really wierd so my husband took him to the vet. Who was really rude. Said cat has concussion and wanted to keep him overnight. I went to see him and he was completely out of it. Could hardly hold his head up. Has anyone had this happen before? Will he make it or is he just suffering?

I have a long haired cat and whenever I take her outside and let her walk around in the dirt, or grass.. I give her a quick bath afterwards..

Should I do this or let her clean herself?

Ps- She sleeps on my bed and all over my clothes

I have a cat who has had kittens more times than i care to think, i dont think her body can take it much more she is old and tired and i dont think she can handle the labour or nurture of the kittens, is it possible to have her terminate?

My two otherwise healthy 4 year old kitties were recently sick. Both had elevated levels of BUN and Creatinine. Hayley required hospitalization for IV fluids and Tino needed two doses of sub-q fluids. Both are doing better now. I can't be sure but I think the illness was related to the food recall. They both had eaten Nutro Max Classics Canned food - Lamb and Turkey Cutlets manufactured on Jan 22 07. This particular food was not recalled but it does contain wheat gluten and was produced during same time period as the recalled food. I contacted Menu Foods, the FDA, and Nutro and nobody has gotten back to me. I just wanted to alert people about the possible bad food. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this food?

i got my cat in august of 2006 and she has been spaded so i know thats not the problem but i am really worried about her running away. i hav but her on house arrest for a week and a half but im afraid that its not enough. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? i love my cat and i don't want her to run away .

My cat took a number two and apparently blood came out too, could this mean serious problems or do all cats go through this, i also had friends over a few days and one of them fed my kitten peanut butter...could that be why??

my cat used to eat science diet or nutro and some dry food but ever since i took away her canned food she will not eat it anymore she eats turkey and cat milk but i can tell she is hungry and wont even touch the dry food and keeps staring at me so today i went to the store and got her some chicken broth and swansons canned tuna she ate the tuna like crazy i will not give her tuna all the time i will try to give her the hard food some chicken broth like very little hoping she will eat it

wat else can i give her i didnt even want to give her canned tuna but she wont eat anything else i gave her the sodium free tuna

One of my cats is so weird....when he has to vomit (usually a hairball (not sick sick) no matter where he is in the house he runs to the food bowl to vomit in (a very annoying habit)! He also eats food (not dry) with his claws like a fork....dry food he scrapes out of the bowl to eat it off the floor. Anyone else have goofy cats?

I've noticed my cat is infested with tapeworms (after spotting the segments) and I've grown really concerned for her and her 5 day old kittens. Could the kittens contract the worms (through her milk, etc. I know that is possible with roundworms and hookworms, but not sure about tapeworms). How serious is this issue to the kittens? And how effective will any treatments be (mainly concerning the kittens)?
Can the vet administer medications for kittens this young? Or will they be administered through the mother cat? I will be taking them to the vet, but it would be nice to know what to expect beforehand.
The cat has never been to the vet before as she is actually a stray, and this will only make her visit more stressful since she is not used to being handled by humans, and has only grown accustomed to me, any suggestions?

Ok, my cat does the weidiests things! She doesn't mew, she squeaks like a fridge turning on, and she sits on her back legs like a Meerkat off of Meerkat Manor. Does anyone out there know why? And she doesn't even do it for treats! She just does it, is this normal?
