It is very normal. Cats are natural predators. Even a well-fed cat may have the urge to hunt. For many cats, the hunt is a game. All cats are attracted to movement. They will “attack” the source and even play with the prey – whether it is an animal or a cat toy.
There are many theories why a cat brings its owner its kill. Your cat may be bringing you a present, in appreciation for you feeding it or as a sign of affection. It may be that your cat realizes you are a totally incompetent hunter and is trying to teach you how to hunt. The cat may be bringing the prey to a place where it is safe and where she usually eats. Your cat may simply be trying to make sure you have fresh food.
Your cat must love you very much to bring you such a wonderful present - you should thank her.

Okay I don't get it. Can't be anyone on here has had much to do with weasels. Yes cats hunt and are predators of many things but a weasel. Have you never cornered a weasel in your garage or barn. I had a six month old Dobe get in a fight with a weasel right in front of us while we were milking cows one night and the weasel won. Yes, the pup died. I had one in the corner of the grain shed come right after me. I had a barn broom and was trying to like encourage him to leave with it and it came right after me. My father inlaw heard me hollering and came out of the barn and shot it. Weasels are notorious for being horribly ferocious and for not backing down for nothing. Either you have a cat like no other or there is some other reason. He found it dead, he had help,it was an infant, I don't know. But I sure have had some dealings with weasels and if your cat got one then you have something pretty special there and I would put him out to hire. He'll make you a fortune.

It's not altogether unheard of for a cat to kill something it just shouldn't have or could have. I've heard of cats that were terminally ill killing rabbits, and I've seen a feral take on an opossum! they're something else! sounds like you've got a good hunting/fighting cat!

I think that it is normal. One time my cat was on the balcony of our 3rd floor apartment, jumped up and caught a bird! Then she brought it into the living room as though it was a gift! I think cats want us to be proud of their accomplishments!

The cat brought you some dinner. It is actually a present (even though it may gross you out). Do not scold you cat for bringing it home though, he/she was just trying to please you.

I'd say it's normal. I don't think your cat would have picked the fight first, but I'm glad to hear he won!
