I know he needs to go to the vet. But I was wondering if there is very serious that needs immediate attention or could it wait a few days till I get paid. I don't have the money right this second. Anything I can do in the meantime to help comfort him?

Get to the vet ASAP! A URI can kill a kitten if left untreated for too long.

If it's an URI (upper respiratory infection) the longer you wait, the worse it could get. Which means more recovery time, stronger antibiotics, more money. If the dicharge from nose/eyes isn't colored, I wouldn't be too alarmed just yet. Sometimes, it it's not severe, the Vet won't even prescribe antiobiotics, but you do need to have her seen by a Vet as soon as possible just to make sure. Good luck!

When I first got my kitten she became congested and wheezy and acted like she had a cold. I thought it might be allergies so I changed her food and that did the trick. She cleared right up. Is there anything she could be allergic to in your home or could it be her food? I think that if she is acting okay otherwise she can probably wait a few days to go to the vet.

nope any breathing difficults need immediate attention, please do try to se a vet.
For the time being ensure the cat is comfortable and the airway is not restricted i.e not laying down flat rather than curled up.
a good vet will treat and put the money on an account for the next couple of days

YOUR KITTEN MAY HAVE UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECT.IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY FOR THE VET .I WILL SUGGEST GO TO THE STORE AND PURCHASE AN OVER THE COUNTER MED CALLED CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE 4 MG.IF YOU GIVE YOUR KITTEN 1/4 OF A PIECE OF PILL 2 TIMES A DAY TILL YOU CAN GET IT TO THE VET IT MAY HELP.IT IS A ANTIHISTAMINE.PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR CAT ANY THING ELSE CATS CAN NOT HAVE ANYTHING ELSE OVER THE COUNTER.PLEASE TAKE YOUR CAT TO THE VET A.S.A.P. YOUR CAT WILL STILL NEED ANTIBIOTICS.HOPED THIS HELPED.

If you can't afford the regular vet, try your local humane society, they provide care at an affordable price. There is not realy anything over the counter you can give him that would be safe. If you can't afford the Vet bill at all, call your vet they can suggest something for you to do. GL, hope kitty gets better soon.

Call the vet and ask if they'll treat your cat and bill you. If they say no, call another until you find one that will. Most will though, as long as you have proof you're employed.

I know I'd go to the hospital if I couldn't breathe.

he should be seen TODAY! explain to the vet that you don't have the money upfront today but you can give it to them in a few days. especially if you are an established client, usually vets offices are good about that.
