Cats - February 2007

My kittens are 10 weeks old and i have had them for almost 2 weeks. The male is more cuddlier than the female. Usually, the male won't mind too much when picked up but sometimes struggles to get free (but usually when he's distracted by a toy). In fact, sometimes he seems to like it.
The female really dislikes being carried unless its HER decision... then she will tolerate it and purr... but usually for no more than 30 seconds. When she was at the pound, she wouldn't let anyone touch her or hold her. If i keep persistantly cuddle and pet and hold them (without forcing it) will they be more likely to get used to it as older cats? Is it normal for kittens to be less patient with being held? I really want them to become cuddle cats... is this just their personality or will eventually they like it more?

A stray wandered into my yard a few weeks ago. She's always been thin and she has a large cyst visible, but for the last week I made her a nice cozy spot in the garage because she was getting weaker and I wanted to protect her from the elements and have a food/water source nearby. Today she is very ill with diarreah and she can barely stand, but she wanted out in a bad way. I think she wants to die outside. It feels cruel to leave her out, but maybe it's crueler to leave her in when she wants out?

I did not take her to the vet because the last time I took a sick stray to the vet their response was to suggest euthanasia because it was a stray and it's history was unknown.

OK so if cats can't supposedly like think a language or something, do they have dreams? And what do they think I mean we think words, but what do they think, how do they think?

My kittens usually sleep on me when i go to bed and they are very cuddly at night time. In general, are kittens more or less cuddly than cats? Do they usually grow out of the cuddly, sleeping on laps thing or do they get more cuddly as they grow up and mellow out? I really hope that my kittens won't grow out of being cuddly...

My cat has black stuff inside her nose! It's easily removed gently by hand. It's as if she has cat boogers! Is there such a thing?? If not, what could it be??

Hello, I am curious if anyone knows about cats And how long the labor could last. Last night My cat who is 2 years old, went into labor, she had one kitten who was not in a sac, And not alive. We called the vet and they said to rub it and try to stimulate it. We did and sadly it didnt help. Since then she has been fine, No more signs of labor, shes just being her normal self. I am wondering if there is a chance she could still have more kittens in there, It has been atleast 12 hours since she gave birth to the 1st one. Does anyone know if the labor could have just stopped or if It lasts this long? Thanx for all your help.

I have limited money to bring my poor cat into the vet. She has an eye injury (some discoloration, but I wouldn't know how severe that would be) and I phoned the emergency vet, and they said that it would cost $300-500! I can only afford $150 max. What are my options? I don't want to lose my beloved cat, but I'm a student now, and have no way of paying that. I have no idea on what to do at this point. Any suggestions?

I've got a kitten that rarely enjoys pats... When you try to pat her, she just wants to play with you, and hit your hand with her paws and nibble on you. She just 24-7 thinks you're playing with her!
Also if she purrs loudly does that mean shes happy?
