A stray wandered into my yard a few weeks ago. She's always been thin and she has a large cyst visible, but for the last week I made her a nice cozy spot in the garage because she was getting weaker and I wanted to protect her from the elements and have a food/water source nearby. Today she is very ill with diarreah and she can barely stand, but she wanted out in a bad way. I think she wants to die outside. It feels cruel to leave her out, but maybe it's crueler to leave her in when she wants out?

I did not take her to the vet because the last time I took a sick stray to the vet their response was to suggest euthanasia because it was a stray and it's history was unknown.

If the cat is as ill as it sounds euthanasia is the humane thing to do. I encountered this kind of a problem 2 months ago. The cat could barely walk. Was very thin, and would not eat. I called animal control, the cat may have had Leukemia (deadly), and contagious to other cats. I did not want the cat to wander into the street, and die by a car running him over. The humane thing to do, the cat was much too ill to recover. Was to euthanasia the
cat. He would at least die peacefully. And without any pain. That was the best that I could do for that sick cat, help him to just go gently,,,,,to a better place. I believe animals have a heaven of some sort.

Animals do have a tendency to wonder off and want to die alone, so it is probably best if you let her go and let her do what she feels is best for her. Unless you can afford the vet bill and have her put down! If I had the money I would send you some but it's a bad time right now and i can't. You are a kind person to care for a pet that way, I think there should be more like you out here. I would do the same. Thank-You

Cats have distinctive personalities. My cat died those days, elderly 19, and grew to become into the final cat i've got ever had. It grew to become into consistently wanting to be around human beings and intensely affectionate. No it does not have served as an interloper deterrent, yet he slept in my mattress like a guy or woman (physique under the covers, head on the pillow) and grew to become into consistently solid organisation and made me sense enjoyed. sure, there are cats which do not make the final pets, yet there are additionally ones like mine which do.

I would get another vet! They should want to help the sick kitty whether it is stray or not. The kitty needs help now, please get it to a more compassionate vet that will care for it like they should.

Cats will wander away to die. Even ones you have had as pets for yrs. will do this. Must be some kind of instinct. I would let her go. She knows she is going. SHAME....Keep up the good work in trying to save animals. HATS OFF TO YOU.

If she is that sick and wants to die, please take her to the vet so that she can be humanely put down, with a friendly voice and warmth around her. Don't let her die alone.
You never know the vet may even say she can still be saved.
Either way, please take her.

Thank you for caring

They can suggest anything they want or you can tell them to treat the kitty. A suggestion is just a suggestion.
