My roommate has a cat that he believes is better off NOT getting neutered, his shots or his nails removed. Maybe he's right about the nails, but it's wrecking my furniture! The cat is miserable, hes crying all day and all night, he sheds pounds of hair everyday. Is there anything I can do to help besides what I'm trying to do? (trying to convince him to get him neutered) Is there anything to save my furniture, I already have one chair thats basically his scratching post. The cat won't use toys or normal scratching posts. He doesn't spray, he won't shutup.
Excuse my misspelling
Thankyou

My kittens is about 12 weeks old and is a major biter! I know that he is teething and I do provide him with things to chew on. When he bites me I tell him "No" in a stern voice and he stops for a second but then goes right back at it.
Any suggestions?

I lost my 11 week old kitten today. Goldie was born with a heart murmur. Two weeks later I had him checked again and it was gone but the vet noticed that his breathing was slightly laboured
and said that because he was the runt valves etc that are not
completely formed in the womb sometimes they fill out and can be perfectly healthy kittens. For the 2 months Goldie ate, played
like crazy and you never think anything was wrong. Today I noticed loose stool on the floor and a little vomit. I immediatly
checked on Goldie and was sleeping in his bed. Then he stretched out completly made horrible painful sound and was
unconscious. I rushed him out to my vet a minute away and
he had passed before I got there. I know that Goldie was not
in perfect health, but you'd never know from how he behaved.
My question is, because I cannot afford to find out what really
caused his death...has anyone had similiar expereince like this.
Just to ease my mind a little. Thank you very much

we went to the vet yesterday when I came home to find there was a kitten stuck in the birth canal they got it out and he said it had been there for a few hours.. she had her first kitten almost 48 hours ago and the second followed shortly after... she then didn't have number 3 till I had left for work the following morning.. the vet said he could feel at least one or two more kittens inside of her and that she should do fine well its been almost 24 hours since we left the vet and still no sign of kittens or any sign of labor... I guess my question is... does this sometimes happen where a cat can completley stop its labor after a stressful thing and then start back up a day or two later.. what will happen to the kittens and what could happen to my cat I've already spoke to the vet no real good advice there and I cant afford to take her back due to the high vet bill yesterday....any info would help and be greatly appreciated thank you

Can some one shed some light? My kitten is all over my male (un-neutered) cat. They are both ragdolls not from the same family. He totally ignores her, avoids her and sometimes is just plain hostile. Could it be that she is too young? It seems like she is suffering greatly and trying so hard to attract him. He is about 4 yrs old. I wish they could get along, but maybe he is just never going to like her. - I understand the importance of neutering and spaying. Please no lectures :) Anyone's advise and help related to my concerns is greatly appreciated!

My cat "Delicious" is about 8 months , has vet visits regularly, eats and plays normally. But about a month ago i noticed her lip being a bright pink color. Thinking nothing of it but noticing how strange is that for a cat to have such a bright pink bottom lip. So a couple of days ago. Me and my husband took pictures of her and noticed how obvious her lip was....and today i looks like its swollen. Im not panicing because i actually think its quite funny how a cat could end up that way! But if it is serious i would do the next best thing for her and make sure she is better! Please could someone tell me what could be the matter and is this normal for her growth?
Thanx
P.S. SHE IS NOT SICK AND HAS BEEN TESTED FOR ALL DISEASES!

I don't know whether to declaw my cat or not. He is always tearing at the carpet, the edge of my mattress, the couch, and the doors. He is an indoor cat so it's not like he needs his claws because he won't need them for self defense. I heard it's mean to do this to the animal but I don't want him to ruin my house and I also don't want to get rid of him.

It took 3 weeks, 4 days at K-State Hospital, and several tests/bloodwork and a biopsy to finally get the correct diagnosis but, he does have cancer. We are heartbroken. He is on steroids 10 mg a day and he had to have a feeding tube in just until he eats on his own. They say he will live a year. Chemo pills are $3.95 a pill. Not bad at all and we are doing that too. He is upbeat most of the time, no throwing up, but a big lack of appetite and lethargy. Is there something else we can be doing.

Please, this is a beloved pet. Serious answers only please. The cat is not suffering and is the king of the house right now. Anyone with anymore advice? Maybe something that worked for you and your pet?

Thanks.

My cat seems to like "grooming" me. She licks my arm hair, and even the hair on my head. She'll sneak up behind me while I'm sitting and start licking my head. Why does she do it and how do I get her to stop without using those stupid spray bottles.

I have to female cats. They will be a year in April. I am going to get them sprayed, but also thinking about getting them declawed, esp. since they are indoor cats. Also, they love climbing my walls, literally!! The sound is worse then the chalkboard...UGH!! But I dont want to keep putting them under for surgery, so I decided to do it all at once. I am wondering if there were any advantages/disadvantages to getting them declawed? Will they be affected emotionally?

He's bow-legged which doesn't affect him much, but he probably doesn't jump/run as efficiently as other cats. Any ideas on how to exercise him. I have another cat he sometimes plays with, but he's just so lethargic. Even as a kitten he was so docile and uninterested in playing. Such a cuddler and a sweetheart, but I worry about his health. I already control his portions and he's been on weight control iams for a few years (he's four). He's big-boned naturally, but I just want him to lose a few pounds, like one or two for health reasons. Any tips?

My kitten nurses on almost anything he can get in his mouth. I've had cats my whole life and have NEVER seen anything like it. I don't know how to break him other than just to stop him but when I'm not there..... Anyway, he will suck on your shirt, the blanket, you name it! Do they make a kitty pacifier? What a stupid question - I know. I just don't know what to do with him and am tired of picking up wet blankets with kitty slobber.

If so, I need to ask you a question. I have two sweet cats (both of which were ferals or strays). They were so loveable, I started feeding them. After several weeks, I took them into my home. Over the past several months, they have become accustomed to me, and are no longer scared of me, though they are somewhat afraid of other family members (I guess it's because they're not used to them yet). If I take them to the Humane Society, do they have a chance at being adopted, or will they be put to sleep right away? I love these little guys with all my heart, and I want them to find a good home, so they can live out their life. I wish I could afford to keep them, but I can't. Do you have any advice for me?

I have a 4 1/2 year-old male cat, whom I love dearly, that just will not quite spraying in the house...He was 1 1/2 when he was neutered, which is the probable reason for his continued spraying but I just can't turn him into an outside cat, he's too much a part of the family! Any suggestions would be appreciated!
