they are sisters, chicky is the fat and fluffy one (from a stomach operation) and cookie is really skinny. cookie is really a fraid-i-cat. every time i walk by her she hisses and runs. i brush chicky sometimes which she loves but the only way to get cookie to play around more is the sight of ham. i put little bits of ham in their dish at night which they love, but other than that cookie just sleeps and avoids me. what can i do for her to not be so scared.

My 4 year old daughter saw petey when he was hit and was dragged down the block until the car made a left and he was dislodged from the wheel well. It was nasty there were pieces of petey everywhere. Anyway she's devastated and I don't know what to do except maybe buy her a dog. I think a dog would be better and sturdier. What do you think?

ok the kitten was spayed last friday she seems preety back to normal now as far as walking around etc but she keeps on licking her stiches today i noticed there is one long red line along the stitch nothing oozing or puss or anything i put antibacterial powder on it when she was sleeping but she licked it off. so its just one dark red line along the opening where they made the incision does that look suspicious? i dont know what stitches are supposed to look like the other part has started forming a scab on it little bits .

When anybody in my family uses our small bathroom (the toilet is about 3 feet from the door and it also faces the door) our cat likes to stick his paw under the door and bat around. Every once and a while I'll take some toilet paper off of the roll and throw it towards his paw and he goes absolutely nuts. When I finish my business and open the door he hurries to sit up and pretend like nothing happened.

He doesnt do it to any other room (not even our other bathrooms) and we're really not concerned...I was just wondering if anybody elses cat does this or something like this.

my cat has long hair and sheds badly.

we have tried shaving him-doesn't work hair is too fine
cutting his hair-he just gets pissed

it costs $150 to get him groomed, and I can't imagine how often I will have to do it judging by the hair on my clothes, couch etc.

any suggestions -no I don't want to get rid of him
AND this isn't seasonal shedding; it is ALL OF THE TIME

i am afraid that my regular cat will catch the new cat's parasites. My regular cat won a similar battle before when we took in a shelter cat but the shelter cat died from parasites. The new cat however is quite active and is not sickly. They are both very playful. The vet gave the new cat medication that he said my regular cat should also take it for a while just in case. How can I ensure that my regular cat does not catch any parasites while we are treating the other cat? I only took in the new cat to help my friend who is going overseas and did not know what to do with it. Now I feel it may have been a big mistake. Please help!

I need to get a self feeder for my two cats occasionally when I'm gone overnight, I'm afraid they might eat too much and get overweight and one already is a bit. Do they know when to quit eating?

My 5 month old male cat sucks on his paws. Like, literally latches on to it and sucks on it like a baby on its thumb. He usually brings his back paw forward, so he can suck on it while he kneads with his front paws, all the while purring madly. Is he just weird, or do other cats do this?

She just started eating alot, like everything that is out for our 2 cats. Drinks fine, even gets in the sinks and licks the faucet (this is new). When she is laying down and we touch her lower belly, which is puffy, she winces. Just happened in last day. We are calling vet in am but wonder about what could be wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Why is it that every single time that I clean out my kitties litter box they take turns seeing who can lay the biggest, stinkiest "bomb" ever inside there?

I clean the litter boxes out at least a couple of times per day and each time I walk away one hops back into what appears to be their favorite litter box and does "her business" and hops back out. It's as if they are trying to get the other one to stay away or show off, like some kind of competition. Is it just my imagination or they trying to outdo each other?

My 2 year old female house cat's fur is clumping on her back. I am constantly brushing her to remove the clumps, she has always been a well groomed cat. She enjoys being brushed, but seems like she is uncomfortable when I brush her back where the clumping fur is located.

A cat just wandered into my life today, and it will be another few hours before I can get to the store and get him food. He looks very hungry. What do I feed him in the meantime?

I have no canned meats and he doesn't want a hotdog.
