ok the kitten was spayed last friday she seems preety back to normal now as far as walking around etc but she keeps on licking her stiches today i noticed there is one long red line along the stitch nothing oozing or puss or anything i put antibacterial powder on it when she was sleeping but she licked it off. so its just one dark red line along the opening where they made the incision does that look suspicious? i dont know what stitches are supposed to look like the other part has started forming a scab on it little bits .

The scabs are normal. The redness w/ out any oozing is just irratation. You may need to get get her an e- collar. They are the lamp shade looking things. That's gonna be the only way to keep her from doing it until it's time to remove the stitches. It will eventually get infected if you don't prevent her from licking

Cats do that, they lick til the stitches are gone. Call your vet and tell him about it, maybe she is ready to get her stitches out. Usually they come out after a week.

antibacterial products for humans can be toxic for pets so I hope it was one you got from the vet.

A red line is normal. your cat is licking it to keep the wound clean. I would suggest as long as there is no infection you shouldn't worry just be vigilant

Depends on whether they are the dissolving kind or the ones that must be removed by a vet. Better safe than sorry, call you vet asap. If there's a problem they should fix it free.

you can get a small e-collar from your vet..he will show you how to put it on..then your kitty wont be able to get to the stitches..it will heal up quicker
