He might just have wandered a little farther than usual & found something interesting & doesn't realise that you're worried sick.
Have a cup of tea, calm down. Get your voice back to normal & not all wobbly then, if your neighbourhood is safe, go out with a packet of his food (if he has dry you can shake the packet - if it's a tin then you can click the ring pull) & walk around slowly, calling him - in a normal tone. After you call, stand still & listen, you may hear him calling back. If not, walk a bit farther, shake your packet, call his name & wait & listen again.
If you have no luck then go home & start preparing some missing leaflets. When you've done that, go out again, this time taking the leaflets with you - tape one to your gate or fence or door & then one to every lamppost. You can try calling him again as you do so.
If still no sign of him then you really must try to get some sleep - so that you can ring around the rescue organisations in the morning & walk up to your local shops & vets to see if they will put an advert in the window for you. Maybe also consider putting an ad in the local paper or online.
If it's any help - over the last few years I've had a few escapees - Rico went missing for three weeks & was found because the lady in whose garden he was living saw the advert on my gate. The most recent was when the door was left open (long story) & they all got out. Three were back immediately & I found two down the road - they came when I called. I didn't find the remaining one though. Nine days later he came back by himself - his ears were covered in oil & he'd lost weight but he was alive & safe. So please try not to worry.

How long has your cat been gone? Does he usually go outside or is this the first time? Cats will come home eventually because thats where the food is. Also, you may want to call animal control. Maybe he was picked up and taken to the pound. Tonight I would leave out a little bowl of food outside just in case he comes home in the middle of the night and cant get in. Good luck!! :)

Dear Please Help
It sounds like you have only a very little love in your life -- and most of it is centered around yuor cat -- I can see why you are so distressed. Most cats do not go far from home when the disappear. They hide. Under things, on top of things. Look there. Look under the pile of tires near the alley. Be careful to do this looking safely. Look in the bushes by the garage. the Place you are most likely to find your kitty is warm and dry and dark. Look several times. When you call for him, do it with a calm voice... he will sense it if you are tense and hide more.
Take your time... he is stronger and smarter than you may realize.
Sending good thoughts your wayll

I know exactly how you must feel, I have gone through this more than once myself, I feel so bad for you. Hopefully your kitty will come home soon.
Meanwhile try this, it worked for me and my cat. Get a can of cat food, with a pull top, go outside and slowly rip the lid off, if he hears this he will come running home, cats have great hearing. Don't get discouraged if you don't see him right away. It sometimes took up to 15 -20 mins for my cat to come running home, depending on what she was doing at the time, also at times it didn't work. If she was sleeping, she didn't wake up easily so she wouldn't hear it. So don't give up on him if this doesn't get him running home immediately. If he is still gone by morning. Make up some flyers with a description of your cat and how much you miss him and put them up in your neighborhood and nearest store. Check with all animal shelters in case your Mom tried to get rid of him. One time my cat was missing for 3 days. She had got herself locked in a neighbors garage. Try not to worry and think positive thoughts that your kitty will come home!
P.S. If your cat doesn't eat can food only dry then try shaking his bag of food. And leave some food and water outside were he can find it, if he comes home while you are sleeping.(if you can sleep) I hope you find him

I don't know if i have any solutions you havent thought of, but is there any bag of treats or some noise that your cat can recognize in case he is lost somewhere? If some person is behind this, I would suggest knocking on every door possible for witnesses, even beyond the neighbors you've asked. It's a difficult situation, and you've got my hopes and prayers that you find him.

Put out food and water. At night real late go outside and look around. Call your cat. Don't give up sweetie, your cat will probably come back. You should probably go down to the animal shelter just to make sure no one trapped your cat and took it down there. I am sorry about your mom and her problem. Hang in there. You sound like a real sweetheart.

You are under too much stress for one person to deal with on their own.
Find an adult that you can confide in, and tell them whats been happening, and ask them to get you help and support. You are upset about your pets and your Mum and need someone to talk to in confidence.
You may be lucky and your pet will turn up. So keep thinking that.
You still need support from someone like your doctor or a teacher or counsellor. Don't waste any time getting the support you deserve.

Call all the shelters and veterinarians listed in the phone book, let them know what your cat looks like and how to get ahold of you. We keep a "lost" and a "found" animal log by the phone. Put up pictures at the supermarket and in the pet stores. Good luck.

First of all, no one should have to put up with this misery. Second, if you think your weird neighbor has something to do with it, threaten to call the police. Also, tell your mom that she has no right to do anything to your cat, and ask your dad if he has noticed anything weird.
Good Luck. I really hope you find your cat.
