We just adopted a VERY large, very lazy senior Siamese mix from our local shelter. He weighs in at 23lbs! At a loss for a name....any suggestions?

No name when he was dropped off just a note stating he was 10 and neutered. Really sweet cat. Hopefully he will enjoy his retirement with us!

I'd say just observe your new feline friend for a few days and base the name on maybe personality or something. My cat, Lightning' was born on Memorial Day and there was a gorgous lightning show going on then along with a lot of rain. My daughter's cat 'Lil' Bear' was named cause she looked just like the bear on her fave cartoon show at the time. lol

Lucky , that is what I would call him because you saved him from being put down especially at his age . Lucky seems appropriate. Very nice of you to adopt him . I adopted mine as well from a foster rescue home .The best money I have ever spent . I love him so much !

Wow, that is one big Siamese.

How about Mongkul, he was the king of Siam. (Think of Yul Brenner from the movie The King and I.

May I also suggest Iams cat food. They have a weight reduction formula. That is what we feed ours. I have a Lilong (Pretty dragon in Chinese) and a Lillith.

Minestrone pronounced Min-es-tro-ne (you know the yummy soup!).
Its good for you (as this cat will be)
Theres lots of ingredients (which is the breed)
And people love it (as i am sure they will love this one)
You can call him Min for short.
And last of all it is an OLD favourite recipe (Great For a senior cat)

Hah Just a thought i like it.

How about Father William? There's an old nursery rhyme about Father William being both old and fat. I remember it from my Mother Goose nursery rhyme book from childhood. Below is a website you can go to to read the poem. Maybe it will fit your new fellow.

Simon. It's so nice that you have taken an older cat to be your pet. I'm sure that he will greatly enjoy his retirement with you kind folks, and the best of luck . Maybe he should be called "LUCKY"

Hi my friend has a cat for her son ,,,he named it Gilbert,,It really suits the cat,,an orange tabby,,,,me I had a brown tabby for 20 years,,my best friend lived with me for 20 years of my life and I miss her everyday...My cat was a female and ended up with the name of FRED,,my fathers name,,,not named after...but the name fred stuck, and I enjoyed her for 20 years,,she was a inside, outside cat who managed to survive those years with a wild single girl,,,Cats are the coolest and I hope you have your cat as long as I had mine...Enjoy and Love they will live forever,,,almost..
