My cat is a male cat and he jumps up on my bed and kneeds at the comforter. Continues to dig his claws into it and I try to stop him by squeezing his paws a bit or tryin to push his claws back in but he still does it everytime! How can I teach him not to do it? I still would like to cuddle him on my bed but without him ruining it.
We can't declaw him because he's an outdoor cat and we live on a raviene so he needs to defend himself.

We got our cat when at 6 months old, he is now 10 months. There are a few issues i need help
1) Recently, and I mean in the last few weeks he has been biting me when he is on the floor and i stoke him or play with him. Is this because he is making a transiition from kitten to cat and I need to give him space and affection on his terms? He was a very cuddly kitten but i always let him come to me. Today he drew blood and he bites so hard.
2) He is also into chewing everything and goes out of his way to find things to chew (like pawing behind the fishtank to get the cables to chew) and he will eat anything he isnt meant to and wont eat wet food. He purrs like a goodun when he is cuddly .
3) being cheeky and scratching all but the scratch posts and NOTHING stops him, hissing at him, saying no, showing him the scratch post and also water is a toy
4) He is chasing one of my other cats all the time and she is scared of him and obviously feels like a victim HELLLLLP

In November a cat I had for 13 years died and my daughter wanted a kitten. After weeks of betting, we caved.

We have two "senior" ( they are 12 & 13) female cats in the home. We have added two new cats to the fold, a male and female British Shorthair pair. One of my seniors is not adjusting well to the additions. We have had the "babies" over eight weeks and did not think it should take this long.

She is not physically agressive to the kittens. She will hiss and growl at them, but they pretty much ignore her.

My husband states she isn't too bad when I'm not home. She has always been my cat, on me constantly, sleeping on my pillow. Since the arrival of the kittens, she will still lay on my lap or over my head but freaks if one of them comes near us. The kittens are very loving and want attention from the big cats, trying to rub their faces agaist them.

My question is this: Is there anything we can do to help this along and help everyone be happy and feel loved? =)

I have a seven month old kitten and we are getting a 10 week old German Sheperd this weekend. How do I introduce them to each and make them good friends? The kitty likes to play and is very loving.

Does anyone know if it is harmful to cats who dont have a Urinary problem? I have two at home, one who was just discovered to have crystals so the vet put her on Royal Canin So Urinary, and I wanted to know if its ok to feed my other cat this as well, so to prevent her from every having urinary problems. I called Royal Canin, and they said its not harmful in anyway, but does anyone else know if its a good idea, or if it would be ok?

I read that cats were genetically identical to dogs. They are even more closely related to dogs than other dogs are. Why do we call them cats?

...pour tuna juice in the bottom of the bowl. Add food on top of it without mixing. Your cat will smell it and eat the food until he/she reaches the prize. I think it will work better with dry food.

I live in a relatively busy suburban street, and in the past my family has had a few of our beloved cats run over on the road. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what precautions I can take to prevent this from happening again?
I do try my best to keep him inside at night time, but sometimes he can be very persistent in his desire to go outdoors, and it seems cruel to trap him. I also had a cat that was run over during the day, so it seems it is not only night time roaming that is the problem.
Cheers!

I have a new kitten and am looking for name suggestions, but they've got to meet one specific criteria:
Whatever it is, it has to be the name of a type of dance!
It's a tradition. We dont mind something unusual and out-of-the-ordinary. In fact, we're looking for something a bit unusual.

We give him three packets a day and he always has biscuits and water out.

My other half says he may need more food as he mithers for food all the time and always eats his food fast but I think 3 packets a day is plenty.

I think he may be ill but he doesn't go out so he can't have caught anything.

Any advice?

my cat, violet is nearly 17 years old and previously in good health. Now she may just be suffering from old age but she is in a right state, been to the vets spent over £200 but all they can find is an ear infection. Basically she will ly in her bed for 3 or 4 days, like she is in a semi coma or drunk or something, hardly moving at all, not even eating or drinking, unable to walk etc. Then she will perk up for the day and be 100% better,(but still not right) then its back to being all drugged up, thats the only way i can describe it. She has had a course of antbiotics, plus blood tests which show nothing is wrong with her organs. Has anyone got any ideas from my description.
