the sooner you get your cat fixed, the more affectionate he will be towards you. It will keep him home, and he won't be out tomcatting at night!!!

It will only make him a better cat than he is now!!!!

Good for you for being responsible and taking care of your cat and making him a better pet!!!

Trust me, it's the best thing for you and the cat.
The cat won't hold it against you.

I have had 3 dogs, and had them all fixed at 4 months.
Vet says sooner like 4 months no later than 6 months the better.
the older they are the more chance that they get the taste of being in a fight, and turn mean,
So do it now!!

Good for you!
Do it!!!!!

He could become a little more hyper, and a tad meaner when he plays. But other then that, there's nothing wrong with it. It's better for the cat to get it fixed. It can prevent unwanted births, prevents cancer-prostate and ovarian/uteral, it can control agression possessivenes, it could calm the dog down, instead of hyping him up.

Having him fixed won't change any of his personality. Just the behavior. If he's sweet, then he'll stay sweet. If he runs around like a rabid animal, then he'll probly calm down. Stay away from the cut, even years after it heals, or he could go after your hand. It's very sensitve down there, and to have a wound, would only make it more sensitive, and can piss the cat off lol. I've owned animals since I was in diapers-dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds, chicks. So I know aobut animals. Th personality will stay the same, just the behavior could change, slightly if it does.

Unless the vet is incredibly rough with him, there shouldn't be any problems! Go for it, and good luck! I'd get it done now, before he gets to much older.

I can tell you what happened when I had a very similar experiance. I had a male cat that was fairly laid back and when we adopted him from the pound he was already declawed. A year later we adopted another male cat that was SUPER excitable, who had, at one point, had his hips broken, and was, to be quite honest, very slow. Point was he needed to be declawed because after 5 months of them play fighting he was starting to injure the other cat. After being declawed his personality didn't change in the least. After recovering he was just as hyper and even at 9 years old loves to play and will cuddle up and purr loudly in the lap of anyone sitting around him. Although spaying might change her personality a bit, it is your responsibility as a pet owner to spay her to ensure she doesn't get pregnant. Also, know that if she is an indoor cat (which I assume she is if you are thinking about declawing her), when she comes into heat she will desperately try to escape if there is a male unneutered cat nearby.

No, your cat's personality will not change. It will be similar to how it is now. It will just be less "sexual," not humping things etc. I had a cat that was sweet/affectionate before neutering and is the same after. Just makes them a little more docile, which can be a small issue if the cat is already laidback like mine.

No, I haven't ever had that happen to any of my male cats, they have retained their same characters after being neutered. In fact with the ones I currently have, the wild one is still wild and the sweet one is still sweet. I don't think it's changed any of my females either, to be spayed.

It is a good idea to neuter them so they won't wander as much if they're outdoor cats and father more kittens, and so they don't spray. That's one smell you'll never get out of your furniture!

Good luck!

No. Getting him neutered before he reaches maturity (6 months) will actually help him to retain his sweet kitten personality.

If you don't get him neutered, when he reaches maturity he'll start marking his territory (peeing all over your house). He'll also start running away & getting wounded in fights with other males over females, and he'll become randomly aggressive due to sexual frustration.

Get him neutered at or before 6 months of age, and he'll keep his sweet, loving and affectionate personality.

I noticed no change in my little male when I got him fixed. Now he's just a big, cuddly lovable guy. Still the same sweetheart I fell in love with.
