We give him three packets a day and he always has biscuits and water out.

My other half says he may need more food as he mithers for food all the time and always eats his food fast but I think 3 packets a day is plenty.

I think he may be ill but he doesn't go out so he can't have caught anything.

Any advice?

First off, get him to a vet to determine if your cat has any internal problems. Also, I think feeding him three times a day might be excessive; you may want to cut that down to two times a day. Lastly, it could be the brand or type of cat food you're giving him; some cats are very sensitive about this.

I think that you maybe feeding your cat too much, Some cats do seem to have an insatiable appetite for food, a small meal with biscuits in the morning and one in the everning is great. there maybe a couple of reasons why he is throwing up, He may have a fur ball, Cats who go out will eat grass to make themselves sick this is to try and bring fur balls up, If your cat is not going out then he is unable to do this, Another thing it maybe is that the food is not agreeing with him, maybe try something else, He may still eat what you are giving him because he is hungry rather than the fact he enjoys it, Also If your cat seems to be hungry all of the time and is eating the food that you have put down but appears skinny or appears not to be gaining weight then he could have worms. My suggestion is to take him to the vets explain his symptoms, All of these things can be remedied quite easily. All the best

If he keeps throwing up his food then he will still be hungry, but I don't think that giving him more food is the answer. Firstly I would de-worm him ( this should be done every 3-4 months) and maybe try him on a different brand as maybe something in the brand you are using does not agree with him. It would also be fairer on your cat just to have him checked at the vet just to eliminate any internal problems. Some cats are sick after eating because they gobble it down so fast that their stomachs can't cope with it, so they throw it back up, having said that though I would be concerned if my cat threw up after every meal .... get him checked. Good luck. x

you are over feeding, a cat only has a mouse size tum , 3 packets is not only going to lead to obesity but as you ahve foud out spew, so give the poor animal only a couple of teaspoos of food and if it comes back for more the same agsin. On the down mode it has a blockage and need to see the vet

Think about it. He throws up after every meal. So of course he's always hungry.
It doesn't matter how much you feed him, its not going into his digestive system.
He could have a hairball, or worms, or there could be something wrong with his stomach that means it can't cope with a big load of food.
Please take him to the vet. They are the only ones who can diagnose and fix the problem. Its most likely a hairball, its quite a common problem with cats.

Until the cat has seen the vet you can't say what the problem is. It can't be diagnosed over the internet.

Three puches a day is way too much, especially with the biscuits! Maybe your cats needs a special diet, so I think you shuld chat with your vet. Also look at the ingredients list as many cat fods have a lot of fat. Maybe she is not digesting that properly. If the list says less than 30 grams, you are fine. Everything above that is way too fatty and is not good for your cat.

Also change the water every day ( on hot days, change it twice).

He could have bulimia my female feline does the same to keep in shape for she will wolf down all her meals and eat the other 3 felines scraps as well as eat table food with us, so she to throws up a lot - however watch him when he goes out to the loo does he eat grass or some leaves these are help agents for felines to throw up - other than that all i can suggest is a check up at the vets

It sounds to me like your cat is getting on a bit in age? They tend to eat constantly the older they get. Best to take him to the vet you may need to have him put on a special diet. They have dry food for the older cat, mine was on little dry biscuits ball shaped suited him for along time. Good luck.
