I had a cat that used to do that with my husbands socks. We'd find his socks all over the house. She'd carry that sock around and make noises just like you said. It was really strange. Even stranger, she never touched my socks, only his.

We decided she just had some kind of sock fetish for his socks. She died last month of cancer at 9 years old. I miss seeing her with his socks and making that funny noise. It was something we got used to.

This is normal cat behavior.

My 9 year old Norwegian Forest Cat will do this with toys. She'll bat them around for a bit, then pick them up and carry them into the room I'm in, meowing loudly while carrying it. She's announcing her "kill".

My cat does the same thing with a sock, I think she's trying to show how proud she is that she caught the sock. She acutually struts when she does this.

Don't worry, your cat is "normal". ALL cats do this to some degree. My Stimpy could work in a studio for all her sound-effects. Luck.
