I know this is embarising, but I have a cat that, for some reason, will not use his litter box. I have tried changing the litter, cleaning the litter box every time he uses it, changing his diet, and changing the litter box's location.

My cat, Odie, is really cool when she wants to be but a couple of things concern me. For one, she's been declawed but she still goes up to walls and cabinets and acts like she's sharpening her non-existant claws. Shouldn't she know they're not there? Also, she loves me and my boyfriend but when we have company she hisses and "claws" at them (before she was declawed she left some ugly marks on a friend of ours one night). No one messes with her, she just doesn't like company for some reason. And when me and/or my boyfriend play with her, she purrs the whole time. Even when she starts getting serious and throws her ears back, she still purrs! When she was declawed she was purring while she was still under all the drugs! She's the purring-est cat I've ever seen! Why does she do these things?

My cat doesn't cover her poo anymore after she uses her box. She isn't old- she is nearly a year old- she used to cover it up pretty well. She missed the box twice... which is hard becuase it's a high box... and when she poos she MAYBE will scratch once at the litter and then hop out. If I'm there she will run out becuase I think she knows she is supposed to cover it up. I tried to put her back in a couple times to cover it up and she fought with all her might to not go back in... I clean it regularly, about every 3 or 4 days... I don't get it... Anybody know how to remedy this???

My cat has been vomitting, having diaherria, and has not been eating for about 3 or 4 days. We took him to the vet and were told to force feeding him small amounts of chicken and water. We think that he may be upset our recent new kitten and he has eaten our new kittens food. How long does it take for food to go through a cat's system? And what else could we do to help him?

He is approx. 11 years old. He is suffering from FIP. Lately he has been getting worse and worse. This morning he could not stop throwing up. He lost control of his bowls and had diarrhea.

I am trying to do everything I can to help him. He is my baby ! I love him more than you could ever know. I can't drive and am trying my best to get a ride to the vets STAT !

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what I can do until I can get him there.

Thank you !

Very recently my 13 year old cat has lost a significant amount of weight. He seems tired but he shows no signs of being in pain, he eats and drinks but smaller amounts than he used to. He is a completely indoor cat, has never stepped paw 1 outside since I rescued him from a farm when he was four months old. I have no money for a vet but I'm not sure what's wrong with him. He also has no contact with other animals. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome. We've put him on kitten food, thinking that perhaps the added nutrition will be good for him being he eats such small quantities lately.

Hes a housecat but i find it cruel to keep him indoors 27/7. Can you let housecates out of the house or is it best not to. We live in the centre of town which is real close to a main busy road and theres also lots of dirty backstreet alleys aswell.
ive heard you can rub butter on its paws and it will find its way home by smelling the butter trail its left.

Is this true?

I have three cats. I Use a Robolitter cat box, which all have been using with no problem. All of a sudden, my siamese has been using the floor outside the box, rather than the box itself - I can't stand it! Nothing has changed. The cat box litter is the same brand as always, and (because its robo) it's always clean. Help!!

I have a cat, about 4 years old. He is the most loving creature on four legs and is perfect in every way...except for one thing, he is FAT!!!

We've talked to him many times about the dangers of being obese, however he still continues to eat.

We've encouraged him to excercise and try to play with him, however he'd rather just lay there and look at us rather than actually get up and chase the ball.

We are afraid this excess weight will lead to a shorter life so I'm wondering what my alternatives are.

I've asked my vet about a kitty lipo-suction and he flat out refused to perform that procedure. Has anyone ever successfully had this operation done on a feline....how about a stomache staple??

I love my cat and want to help, but he wont listen!!!

I just brought home a cat from the shelter. It turns out that she has the flu or cold. I am bringing her to the vet in a couple of hours (when I get out of work.) My question is this....I already have two other cats at home. Both have had colds/flu (as they came from a shelter as well) and both have had their vacines for this year. Could they get sick again? If they do, and it is mild, will the symptoms go away on their own? I plan on going home and completely sanitizing my house, but I know that the germs are already present. Thanks!

On my cat's back paw, one of his nails is shedding the casing. When I went to clip his claws, I found that somehow it had started bleeding inside. I clipped the nail just the tiniest of bits, without going into the quick. I'm not sure what to do to help him. He acts normal, but if you touch the foot he complains and whines. Can I peel the casing off and try to stop any blood flow with like, cooking flour or something? He's still moving, jumping, playing like normal -- no tenderfooting or complaining.

My cat is 21. She's healthy, except her teeth have fallen out over the last few years. I feed her wet cat food, but she finishes it right away and if she doesnt' then it just get dry and inedible in her bowl. I like to leave food in her bowl at all times so that she can go there and eat at her leisure, but if I feed her dry food, she has trouble chewing it and will frequently (this is grosse) barf it up whole, and then eat it when it's soft. Does anyone know of any hardish-soft food specifically for cats with barely any teeth left that can be left in the bowl for hours?

I have 2 adult cats and both have their own water dishes. I currently change their water twice a day. Is that enough, should I change it more often?
