Actually I think scientist have proved that all cats and dogs do, something about having the same type of brain waves as humans do when they dream.
And yes I think that means he's dreaming.

Cats definitely dream. Frequently, while they are sleeping, you'll see them twitching around a bit. That's when they are dreaming. In most humans, when we dream, the connection between our conscious mind and our body turns most of the way off. However, cats' don't turn off to the same degree, so they still move a bit when they think about moving in their dreams. From my experience, they likely have similar concepts behind their dreams as we do. Most of the time, regular happy dreams, which for a cat would probabaly be chasing down prey or playing with their favorite toy. But I've also had a cat have a nightmare in my lap where they suddenly woke, and proceeded to kick me in the crotch as they ran away from whatever they were dreaming about.

Yes they do. Some more than others. That I don't understand. My oldest cat dreams all the time while the others barely do. Don't know if it's a male thing, but they do dream. If you look close up, you can see the eyes moving side to side just like humans do when they dream. I wouldn't worry about it.

oh definitely, had one older cat used to have vivid dreams when got older, sometimes heard growl and all of a sudden wake up and go what the (blank)! (he looked like chester cheetah), sometimes he'd be dreaming of milk probably or eating, he'd sleep with his mouth open literally licking in the air and licking his mouth as if eating, and move around and twitch, then act like he was drinking milk again, wild REM sleep lol

I think they do. They usually have their legs moving and sometimes look like they are eating.
