If so, I need to ask you a question. I have two sweet cats (both of which were ferals or strays). They were so loveable, I started feeding them. After several weeks, I took them into my home. Over the past several months, they have become accustomed to me, and are no longer scared of me, though they are somewhat afraid of other family members (I guess it's because they're not used to them yet). If I take them to the Humane Society, do they have a chance at being adopted, or will they be put to sleep right away? I love these little guys with all my heart, and I want them to find a good home, so they can live out their life. I wish I could afford to keep them, but I can't. Do you have any advice for me?

Stray cats are a dime a dozen. There is much of a chance that they will be put down or end up in crappy circumstances no matter what you do.

I run a non-profit rescue and we focus on spay/neuter. I can tell you that you don't want to put them in the paper or someone will send their "girlfriend" over to pick up the cats and then use them to bait Pits with or something horrific. It is rare to find cats a home in the paper.

There are things called "Cat Rescues" that I have provided links below.

Also, you might just fix the pets and put them back outside. That is called "Trap Neuter Return" and I have also posted links to information on such. Ask some of the Cat Rescues in your area for more information on low cost spay neuter and cheap or free vaccines available in Ft. Lauderdale.

Please encourage all of your friends with house pets to get their pets fixed so we don't have so many strays that end up at the pound. The money to run most counties shelters actually comes out of your tax dollars, not a magical fairies butt like some people seem to think.

I have never been to Lauderdale, Florida. But.... if Broward County Humane Society is not a no kill clinic, there is a great chance the cats will not find a good home. Most everyone is maxed out with cats at the moment.

If you want them in a good home, I would suggest advertising on petfinder.com, advertise in your local paper, pennysaver, and as well as www.livedeal.com.

Just make sure that where you take them, it is a "no kill" establishment. They will find them a good home. Also if you know someone that would give them a good home, better still. Too bad that you can't keep them. You seem to be very compassionate, and loving to the cats. Maybe you could work with a pet shelter, and foster cats.

I even have prevalent this for many, some years! each golden That I even have come into touch with that substitute right into a renounce or a circulate and if the Golden substitute into additionally observed by AKC paper we contacted AKC immediately with void in the process their registration papers. to not gain this may be a violation of ethics and a unscrupulous action on any rescues section. They threat their loosing their non earnings status and so lots greater! If everybody ever says's they obtained a Golden or the different dogs with the aid of a rescue and had valid AKC papers presented by that rescue, then additionally claimed that they confirmed or titled that dogs i might look at them and the rescue that allowed this to ensue as being accountable of something unethical and shady! this heavily isn't finished!

hi, believe me, I understand how you feel. The chances are 50/50 and unfortunately most of the shelters are way overcrowded and most of the animals are destroyed. My suggestions are: first, check around for any organizations that might be able to assist you with the cats needs ( ie. shots, spay/neuter, food etc) also, check with family and friends to see if they would be interested in adopting one/both of the cats. I really hope things work out for the best.
