I've got a kitten that rarely enjoys pats... When you try to pat her, she just wants to play with you, and hit your hand with her paws and nibble on you. She just 24-7 thinks you're playing with her!
Also if she purrs loudly does that mean shes happy?

Patting her, like tapping on her head or somewhere may be interpretted by the kitty as 'love taps', and it is patting you back. Try stroking her fur, which will be interpretted more as grooming it, which the mothers do, and it might respond more the way you want to being stroked.

Purring is a sign that it appreciates your presence. I've heard that cats might purr even if they are in pain or uncomfortable, but letting you know that your presence is appreciated. That is a kind of contentment, right?

Most kittens are hyper little creatures that do want to play all the time. They will calm down when they are older.

Try loving long strokes (not pats) when she is sleepy.

Purring probably means she is happy (although they do purr if they are scared)

Yeah the purring means shes happy. Find her some toys that can be set up without you having to play. Might give you a rest. Try attaching a toy mouse on a string to a straightened out clothes hanger and sticking it underneath a couch cushion so it dangles. The kitty will like it.

If she's under 6 months - the loud purring is DEFINETLY happiness. If she's older - and not spayed - uh-oh!! She's in heat!! I have a year and a half year old cat - love 'em to pieces, but he's just now coming down from 'let's play all day' stage. It could take awhile. Don't encourage it by playing with her everytime. She needs to know you're the boss. Kitties are fun! Enjoy!

Use yarn, string, or a toy when she is playful and you are wanting to play with her. Sit with her quietly and "pet" her, don't pat her. Later, she will get the message and enjoy your petting and playing with her and understand the difference.

Her purring is a sign of contentment....

She's just young, and that's what young kittens do. And yes, when she purrs loudly that means she's happy.

She just wants to play a lot. It's like kids. Kids don't ever want to relax, they just want to play. Give her some time.

Purring loudly probably means she's happy.
