Have moved to new apartment lately. My 8-yr old male neutered cat has always been an indoor-outdoor cat; but since i moved, i thought it the better part of prudence to turn him into an indoor cat only. Since he has been watching dogs being walked from my windows, he has meowed to be let out. In any battle of wills, the cat always wins; so i got his halter and leash out and put it on him. He used to just lie down and wouldn't walk in it when i tried that a year ago - but now, he allows me to strap it on; walks (trots) the sidewalks like a dog beside me and EXPECTS me to go walkies with him TWICE every night (when all is quiet). Does anyone there have the same situation? And am i really supposed to be doing this?

Our new kitten has a thing for chewing on cables and wires. He has chewed through 2 USB cables and I found my cell phone charger in 2 pieces this morning. I purchased that spray from the pet store that you can get, which puts a bad taste in their mouth, to deter them from chewing... but it doesn't work for him. I bought a new phone charger and wrapped it in duct tape. When I catch him do it, I squirt him with a water bottle, but I'm not always home! Any ideas?

someone's cat is having kitten's in our yard, the mother isn't being taken care of by the owners, so I felt bad for her and started feeding her, I love the cat and her kitten's but I can't keep all of them, I could take them to a shelter but she will just have more, do you think I should take her to get her spayed even, though she's not my cat, I just want to do the best thing.

Ok I know this is going to create an uproar but as a guy, I treat my cat a little differently than most woman treat theirs. And yes I guess I'm also a little mean, I wouldn't like it if the position was reverse but it's not. But I would like to mention I'm not interested in abuse stories and if that's what you're into, please don't answer. I'm interested more on the line of pulling the seat out of someone when they are trying to sit down type. Have fun with this question.

My mean thing: I put scotch tape around his paws. He hates it because of the noise it makes and shakes it and walks funny when it's on. It's hilarious. =) Yes I know it's mean.

She looks from side to side as she walks and one little noise makes her hop straight up in the air!! Also when I open a door for her to go into another room, she jumps about 1 1/2 feet to get there , she won't walk through. Help me understand her and is she really that scared of something? She is my spoiled baby, 12 yrs old already.

My cat is asthmatic and on medication, therefore, I wonder if it's the salt he's after.

There isn't bleeding, and it isn't red, there is no discharge, but the incision has a distinct odor (like a baby's umbilical cord before it falls off) and part of the incision looks white. It is 11 pm here, and the vet is open tomorrow morning, so I will call then, but can I put neosporin on it tonight, and will it help her? She isn't acting like she is in pain, she is still very playful, eating, drinking, and happy, so I don't think it is major, but it is enough to give me a nagging feeling...

We have had him dewormed but the diarrhea isn't getting any better. I am planning on calling the vet but they aren't open until monday. Is there anything else i can do to make him better. We're keeping him hydrated but i'm still worried.

my cat ha had what seems like a cold for about 3 months now and im getting worried. I dont know if I can afford to take her to the vet, but then again, i dont know how much it will cost. How much can I expect to pay to taker to to get looked at and what does this sound like? Could it be a cold or somthing eles? She makes alot of noise when she breaths. When she means to purr she make stuffed nose noise instead.

So...I bought 2 cats when they were just kittens. One is playful, the other very shy. Today I was petting the playful one and he started go crazy and clawed up my arms. Then he ran to the front door where he proceeded to crap all over the floor. Frustated, I made him go outside and cool off. When he finally looked like he was ready to come back in, I went to pick him up and he hissed at me. Well I had enough by now. So I took him to the sink to give him a bath (keep in my mind he had poo all over himself...liquid poo to be exact) After the bath I took him outside, where it was warm, so I could dry him off. He started to run away so I just let him go. As soon as I came back inside, he was at the door whining to get in. So I opened the door, and he ran off. This happened a few more times, until finally I just grabbed him. When I got him back in he stayed at the doorway. When the other cat walked up to him, he hissed. I walked up to him and he hissed and arched his back. Why?

my 2 year old female has taken a motherly approach toward my 5 month old kitten who I adopted about six weeks ago from my local SPCA. she seems to always be watching him to see what he's up to, they clean each other from time to time, whenever he starts to play fight with her, she puts him back in line. ever since I adopted him she now lays on one of the breakfast chairs right by him. I've also noticed that when she can't find him she walks around the house meowing and looking for him. I think that Blackie kind of believes that T.J is her baby. she's became sooooo atttached to him. but, when I first brought him home she hissed at him for about three or four days. I was just wandering if female cats can act like this after they've been spayed. oh, and T.J was neutered before I adopted him. Thanks!

THEY BEEN USING THE KITTY LITTER FOR MONTHS THEN THEY BECAME "OUTDOOR" CATS AND NOW ONLY GO IN THE BACKYARD. IT'S ALL DIRT GROUND SO THEY JUST DIG LIKE THEY NORMALLY DO IN A LITTER AND GO AND THEN PUT DIRT OVER IT. IS THIS A BAD HABIT AND SHOULD I KICK IT WHEN IT DOES THAT?

EXCEPT HE'S HOOKED ON A LASER POINTER. I BOUGHT ONE TO PLAY TRICKS ON HIM AND NOW HE IS OBSSESSED WITH CATCHING THE RED DOT. I'D PLAY WITH HIM FOR 10 MIN BEFORE BED THEN I'D WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND HE'D BE SITTING IN WAIT THE LAST TIME HE SAW THE RED DOT. THEN I'D PLAY WITH HIM SOME MORE SO HE'D GET TIRED AND GO TO SLEEP.
