There is an abandoned cat in my complex. Bless its heart it is so skinny. I would like to bring it into my home so I can have it checked by a vet. I am a dog owner and am not sure the ins and outs of properly caring for a cat.Any good advice and does it matter what I give it until I can go get cat food.

I have a wonderful kitty cat, she is the nicest pet until I have visitors. When new people come into my house she hisses and swats at them. I do not understand why she is like this. She is the sweetest thing to her family members. I have never seen a cat act like this.

Just got two new kittens three days ago. This morning the male peed on our bed. He has been using the litter tray happily up to now, as has the female. My husband scoops as soon as it is used, and it seems clean and pleasant (for a litter tray). This morning our male cat started scratching around looking like he wanted to go, I popped him in the kitchen and he had a poop in the box, but as soon as he was let out of the kitchen he rushed to the bedroom and peed on our duvet. He hasn't been lonely, has had lots of attention, I don't think it is a bladder infection because he chose to go to the bedroom rather than being caught short. The only thing I can think of is his litter box - but as I say, it seems to be clean. We haven't changed his litter or his food.

HELP!!

I've never owned a kitten before and I want to buy one. What are the things I need to think about or get before I go out and get one.

How much do they usually cost?

Okay, we just adopted two kittens around a week ago and they are around... uhh, nine weeks old... I think. The problem here is that they do not properly clean themselves and they like to paly in their litter box. Yes! What the hell is wrong with them? Why in the world do they keep playing in there? Is there something that I can do to stop them from jumping in there? We already bathed them twice this week, but they are beginning to smell again! (We washed them TWO days ago!). All they do is like their legs and paws, and that is not much help!

My Zoe had 3 kittens almost 3 wks ago. She's a great mom and nurses them fine. Once a day Zoe goes off to take a break which is understandable but the kittens start climbing out of their box..is it ok to let them do this or should I put them back in the box? Their eyes are open and they are alert and healthy.

My kitten is 3mo. old and we got her from the local shelter. She had an upper respiratory infection and was put on antibiotics. She wasn't getting any better and her eyes (especially one eye) started dripping green stuff and they were irritated, so the vet put her on stronger antibiotics yesterday. But, today her one eye looks really bad. Should I call the vet again? Tomorrow is sunday so I'm not sure what to do. Or should I just let it pass and see if she gets better since it's only day two on the new medication? I don't want her to suffer if she doesn't have to.......

She also will do backflips while chasing feathers on a string. Was she a dog in a past life? What about your cat, does he/she fetch?

The kitten that I am getting is a male tabby cat, with a laid back personality. I want a name that is different, but that I can shorten for a nickname. Let me know of any unique names for my new kitten. Thanks!

I'm not talking about you physicically harming your cat yourself, but, letting your cat outside unsupervised (not on a leash or in a cat cage). you should be ashame of yourself if you did.
