My kitten is 3mo. old and we got her from the local shelter. She had an upper respiratory infection and was put on antibiotics. She wasn't getting any better and her eyes (especially one eye) started dripping green stuff and they were irritated, so the vet put her on stronger antibiotics yesterday. But, today her one eye looks really bad. Should I call the vet again? Tomorrow is sunday so I'm not sure what to do. Or should I just let it pass and see if she gets better since it's only day two on the new medication? I don't want her to suffer if she doesn't have to.......

to answer the questions asked: there's an emergency vet nearby....she isn't vomiting or acting sick.....she's just itching her eyes a lot w/her paws.....licking her paws and then rubbing her eyes a lot.

often kittens get eye infections, caused from the milk they suckle. usually its harmless. a moist warm cotton bud will wipe it away if u are very gently and careful. the kitten will panic as u do it but be firm and persistent. keep doing this everytime u see the mucky stuff around its eyes, usually in the morning. if the problem persists after 10days then call the vet again. but most of all, don't worry. she'll live through it lol.

Sorry about your kitty. :( When my kitty was sick of a stomach infection i had to take him to the vet 4 times after they found out how to treat him poor little guy was miserable I had to change his diet sooo many times before it went away. The stronger med.s should do it but just in-case go to a 24 hr. pet hospital...If your vet isn't open. I hate it when some vets close on Sunday! Animals don't stop being sick just because it's Sunday.

Is she in pain? Vomiting, walking like she's really sick? And there are no 24 hour emergency vets within, say, an hour from you??? Then 1st thing in the morning, just bring her in; in the mean time, use clean, damp cloths and gently wipe her eyes towards her nose; throw all cloths away and keep an eye on her all night.
