"Two cat breeds are often touted as shedding a minimal amount - the Cornish Rex that has short, curly fur that lies close to her body, and the Devon Rex that is similar and has curly fur that can be in a very thin coat across the cat's body. Because of their very short and fine fur, their shedding is not usually noticeable, but they also shed.
The only cats that do not shed fur are the purebred hairless cats, such as the Sphynx. This unusual cat is not totally hairless. She has a fine down on her body, rather like the fuzz on a peach. Some people say the skin of a Sphynx feels like suede or chamois. This breed is rare and it needs a special kind of care, but they are great choice for people with allergies."
Hope it helped!

In general all cats (besides hairless lol) shed. But i've had 4 cats in my life and i would say if you get a cat that has wire hair- its glossy looking and kinda feels like it has oil on its fur- that would be best. My cat that had that type of hair shed very little and didnt cause a problem with allergies or anything.

All cats (with hair) shed. There are some cats that shed a lot less, like a Cornish Rex (I have one) or Devon Rex.

According to the CFA (cat fanciers assoc.) and the AHS (American Humane Society), all haired cats shed. If you need an entirely shed-free cat, then the hairless is your best choice.

All cats with hair shed.
My Devon Rex sheds enough for two cats...which evens out, because my Sphynx doesn't shed :)
All rexes shed...it's just curly instead of straight hair.

rex cats and spynx
but if you feed a better quality food (NOT from grocery or Wal Mart) with no fillers - you will greatly reduce shedding...
people often forget we brush our hair several times daily.. and yet we only seem to want to brush our pet once a week...
