When he does poop he is straining and it is very dry. Is there some food I can try to help alieviate this issue? He has been eating the same food for 7 years with no issue. The food is IAMS healthy weight dry food. He is an indoor cat a little on the heavy side but very healthy.

These are all neighbor animals who live outside. I am tired of cleaning up after them.

I adopted a rescue cat and signed papers saying he would be an indoor cat. However this cat is obsessed with going outside and slips out of the door at every chance. He has actually become quite clever at it. Do any of you have any ideas for behavior modification? I am very afraid of losing the cat if he gets outside and I am unable to catch him. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful answers.

My 5 month old kittens eat 7 times a day. Each time I feed them a can (5.5oz) of 9Lives, Whiskas, and other brands, which they share. They let me know when they're hungry, by following me around and meowing nonstop.

About two months ago, I found a tapeworm in one of their stools so I bought a $30 tapeworm medication at Petsmart. It seemed to work because they immediately grew twice as big as before. And their "beer gut" dissapeared.

So what could be the problem? Worms again or is 7 times normal?

I found my cat in the laundry basket urinating. My fiance thinks he is spraying, I think he is sick. He has never done this before.

We're getting a cat tomorrow. He's 9 years old and very friendly. How long do you think I should keep him indoors for before letting him outside and does anyone have any other tips about settling him in? Cheers.

I've heard all the standard names; he has darker strips around his legs and he needs a name. He is very playful and jittery. Any one got any ideas?

...the crunching woke me up. I figured it was 3 a.m., and he's eaten a million chipmunks before, so I went back to sleep.

Do you think I should have stopped him and taken what was left (yech!) away from him? Or, was I right to let him have his snack?

Hi, I just got two kittens and the female is very curious, friendly and adventurous. She is 10 weeks old.

She loves being cuddled and stroked, but while I do this she miaows loudly and sharply - it almost sounds like she is in pain. She purrs the whole time though. She miaows if you stop stroking her too, and it seems to be random - not based on touching a particular part of her body.

Is she just a very vocal cat who is trying to tell me she likes being stroked? It doesn't seem as if she is in pain, but it sounds like an OW miaow if you know what I mean.

She is very loving to me, and once in a while she will "allow" my boyfriend (together 1yr) to pet her. Then sometimes she will hiss and growl at him when he enters the room. She always hisses and growls at everyone else, but just 1/2 the time at him, never at me. Any suggestions??

I moved to a new townhouse a little over a year ago. She has had one accident before that. She peed the first time right after we moved in. I do not think she has been doing it since then. But about two weeks ago my husband noticed a spot in one of our rooms and realized it was pee. I have two cats so it took me a while to figure out who was doing this but lo and behold I just caught my female cat in the act..... I did get both cats at the same time and although I tried at the beginning they insisted on sharing a litter box (my second cat is a male/ both are fixed) Can someone please help I have no idea what to do and if she doesn't stop I am afraid my husband will insist on getting rid of her. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

The cat was purchased from a cattery and the conditions couldn't have been more different than my home. I know siamese are vocal but she seemed to be in distress. It may be that she doesn't like the silence at night as the cattery was incredibly busy and noisy. Any ideas?
