If you are unable to take proper care of the animals, then take them to the animal shelter. At least the will get the medical attention they need. It may also spread to your indoor pets. Best to find out what you are dealing with here and get those helpless animals some help!

It sounds like the cat has an abcess or injury to the eye. Without vet treatment, the cat will likely go blind, die, or lose the eye (depending on what the problem is). DO NOT BUY OTC PRODUCTS FOR THIS WITHOUT AT LEAST CALLING A VET!!!! If you use the wrong product, it will be as bad as doing nothing! Your other pets shouldn't get it, but there is the rare chance if it's a contagious illness causing this. Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after handling the outdoor cats.

Poor kitty! You could call a few vets and see if any of them would be willing to treat the cat for free. Otherwise, if you don't have the funds, the kindest thing to do is to call a (no-kill) shelter and they will help the cat.
If you have a lot of outside cats you'd be wise to speak with the shelter about those too. Chances are they are feral and will just keep reproducing over and over again. Also there are feral cat rescue places that will trap them and alter them, then release them back to the wild. At least this helps prevent more unwanted cats who have a very short lifespan due to the dangers of being outside.
As for your inside cats - first a big congratulations for keeping them indoors. Next, they could conceivably catch something, so make sure you wash your hands well if you touch these outside cats, and change your clothing if it comes in contact with them.
Best of luck!

Take the injured cat to your local animal rescue clinic or shelter like the SPCA. Or you can call them and they can catch the cat and bring it to the shelter. Once in the shelter, stay long enough to ask what's wrong with the cat;s eye and if it is contagious - then you'll know what to do with your indoor kitties. But please do something for the stray cat.

If more than one of the cats has this problem, then it is more than likely an infection, and in that case, yes, your pets could contract it. If these cats are strays, call your local animal control; they need vet care and homes.

Sounds like the eye has been injured from a blow of some sort. Believe me it is painful. It doesn't sound like something contagious. This cat should be trapped and turned in. Surgery to remove the eye is the only option.
He is suffering and without your help and that of a veterinarian he will probably die from this anyway.

dont let the cats play with each other. if it is contagious then you are in trouble. if you can pet the cat with the eye prob, try 2 clean it up with water and a cloth, dont forget 2 wash ur hands before touching other things and pets. if u have any friends that might help ask them.

I had a kitten that's eye did that. It must have had an eye infection. It will most likely be blind in that eye. I had to put my little bitty kitten to sleep because when I found it, it's eyes were like this. You can buy a vaseline like substance in a tube at the vet without taking your cats. It cost me like $10. I did manage to save 1 kitten's eyes using this. It works like a miracle.
Good Luck!

Get them free help from a shelter, that is more humane than letting the sick ones suffer.
Have all the cats fixed, shelters will do this for free also. It is not healthy or good to let them breed without some form of support.
This isn't africa or china.....

The cat most likely got it,s eye scratched in a fight with another cat. My sister lives on a farm and I noticed one of their cats had a large swollen eye and she said that this happens to them sometimes and that is what causes it.
