We have 4 cats and our daughter moved to an apt. and took her 8 year old cat with her. He never interacted with the other cats. Since she moved him his is crying and she is worried about him. He is eating and drinking but will not leave her side. Should we bring him home?

No give him some time. But what ever you do DO NOT let him outside alone. When I was little we had a cat and we moved. My mother let him out one night because he was crying all night and we never saw him again. Let him get used to his new surroundings. he will adjust it will just take some time. Tell your daughter to be patient with him because he needs her attention right now he needs to know that everything is OK and safe for him. Good Luck.

How long has he been in his new home? I would give it at least a month to make a better adjustment.

The idea of another cat is a possibility.

If you go to: www.littlebigcat.com you can order one of Dr. Jean Hovfe's spirit essences. I just looked them over and "New Beginnings" sounds like the right one for this cat.

A bottle of the essence will be mailed to you for $16.95, no shipping or handling or taxes. Directions for use will come with the bottle.

Don't dismiss this possibility. The essences do work wonders with animals and it is easy to treat the cat. The essence can be put on the cat's fur between his ears for about two weeks. It is simple, inexpensive and can help the cat immensely.

I would get the cat happily settled down. Then she might want to look into another cat as companion.

Probably not. He's going through a transition. I did this when I took my cat 600 miles away to live with me when I'm in school. I worried a lot and felt really badly when I first got here. After a while, we got to be closer friends.

I guess it depends on which cat is most attached.

I have more stories but they are tougher.

Sometimes cats have a hard time adjusting to new surroundings. If the crying persists, consult the vet and see what they way. You might not have any other alternative but to bring hm back. It sounds like he is lonely.

I agree with getting him/her a playmate..I had the same problem..inherited a cat that was used to being around other cats. She was extremely clingy and cried a lot. I got a new kitten...and she showered her with affection...treated her like she was her baby...Now she's still affectionate to me...but not too that annoying extreme...and she's VERY happy...She is like a new cat. Good luck!

She needs tobring him back home because even though he didn't have anything to do with the other cats they are still his family. If she don't want to then she needs to take another one with him or get a new one for him. It may take a while before he likes the new one but eventually he will.

In considering the cost of cat food, cat liter and the ingredients for muffins, I think one cat minimum, and two cats, maximum is enough. But it's up to you. You could give your daughter, another one.

It is hard for a cat that old to accept change. Be patient and attentive and the cat will eventually relax.

I just moved my cats with me to my new home and they were doing the same thing. I made sure I gave my kitties some extra TLC and that they knew they were 'home'.

Give the cat a little more time to adjust. Maybe she should get a kitten/playmate for him.
