Hi Kelly...sounds like a possible case of tapeworms (http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/tapeworm.jpg) or another parasite. Cats get tapeworms from ingesting fleas while grooming themselves. Although there are over the counter remedies, they don't work as well as seeing the vet. Left untreated this will make the cat more ill so it's best to resolve this as soon as possible. I've included another link about tapeworms (one type of common parasite to cats) below. Please have a look to learn more as it discusses options for treatment.

It could possibly be worms or some kind of parasite. The best thing for you to do is call your vet on Monday. Keep a close eye on your cat over the weekend and make sure that his condition does not worsen. If it does then I would recommend taking him to an emergency vet. It will cost alot more but isn't he worth it?

If it's coming out of it's butt and it's not worms it could br twine or string. Take him to a vat because it could tangle up in his intestine and that could be really bad.

You didn't say if they are around the back end area.
Watch them and see if they move, if so they are worms. You can get worm meds at many grocery stores that treat many ,but a vet can verify what kind and treat them.

Definitely call the vet. Animals can't say what they're feeling so it's not a good idea to take chances.

Has he ever been outdoors? If so, he could have gotten into something. Take him to the vet and make sure he is okay.

sounds like worms. Take him to the vet and get a pill---a pill can take care of worms easily.
