She also will do backflips while chasing feathers on a string. Was she a dog in a past life? What about your cat, does he/she fetch?

Yep, mine fetches, and sits on command and lays down on command. Use their stomachs as incentive and they will learn anything. My cat even gets on the dash and plays dead when we are going thru a weigh station(I drive a semi) I just say "Pounce, coup" and dead kitty on the dash! lol

It's not weird for cats to play fetch. One of my cats loved fetching his toys for hours on end. He would also do backflips when he was chasing a string or jumping after one. All my kitties do their own special thing but this is the funniest!

No, that's not weird at all. My cat doesn't fetch, but my husband used to have one that did. My kitty does like to do the backflips when chasing feathers on a string though.

My cats will sure chase and fetch, but returning is a different story! My older cat has a fascination with water. He has to sit on the counter and watch when I do dishes, has to sit on the toilet seat when I'm in the tub, and actually comes running when he hears water running! He has to watch when the dog gets a bath, usually while sitting on my back, cause I'm bent over the tub. When I'm in the tub, he tries to grab me in the water, and usually he ends up soaked, but he doesn't mind! He was orphaned at 1 week old, and brought to me as a rescue. I had to bottle feed him, get up with him every 2 or 3 hours at night, stimulate his bowels and bladder. He got diarrhea from the formula, so that meant he got cleaned up a lot under the sink faucet- so he got used to the water. He has the most unique personality of any cat I've ever had, and I think he's a genius!

Not at all. My cat loves to play fetch. It's good exercise for her and playing together is a great way for you to bond with her.

Cats and dogs have some things in common. So it's not uncommon to see a cat doing things we normally associate with dogs like fetch or chasing their tail.

I adopted two cats together and one has played fetch from day one and the other plays with her toys but has never fetched anything. My male cat who fetches also plays with my daughter's boxer and at times I believe that he thinks he is a dog! Every night and every morning my cat brings his favorite pink/gold mouse and he will fetch it as long as I play the game!

My cat loves to play fetch. He also sits on command. He sits up on command. And he loves to take a bath. He gets a bath about once a week. He also goes for rides in my car (like a dog), and he walks on a leash - like a dog.

Cats are great in many ways - you just have to have patience and work with them, just like any other animal.

I've had several cats that fetch. I have three cats now and two of them are retrievers. Cats, especially those kept indoors, learn very quickly how to entertain us as well as themselves. I have one cat that will wear himself out bringing me back his old bitten up dirty catnip bag he got for Christmas about 8 years ago. He retrieves foam balls and anything round that crinkles.

We have moved 4 times in the last 10 years and each place we live I put a black dot on the family room wall about 3.5 feet up. He finds that dot and will jump up, reaching out one paw that lands squarely on the dot. Then he races over to us for praise and a treat. Cats are a trip, ya gotta love 'em.

Wow, I wish my cat would play fetch!! My cats do flips when they want to when I'm playing with them. That's normal.
