My cat has a congenital disease that gives her ulcerations in her mouth and also causes hair loss on her back legs and belly. She has to have a monthly cortizone shot for it. I think it starts with "Encepholo....." but I am not sure. What the heck is the name of it???

I am currently with Direct Line for my 2 cats, it was the best quote I could find and covers them for life, but if anyone knows any better companies I would love to hear from you as I want my kitties to be covered for the unexpected. Thanks for your help.

One of our 6 cats has the bad habit of taking stuff -- random stuff -- and then YOWLS to tell us. This is very annoying and I need him to stop. nothing changed in the household ... so I have no idea WHY he does it.

I have gone to pet stores but the selection for cats is so much smaller than for dogs. Usually my kittens just end up attacking my hair scrunchies or random objects laying around my apartment *lol* I would like to get them a few new toys to play with.

Siamese Cat lives in Neighborhood, HE is a stray. HE, is a very visible Male unneutered Cat. He appeared to be thin about two months ago, (It is very hot here). He has been coming to eat the food We leave on the front porch. I was gone for almost two weeks, but Family still put food, and fresh water out everyday. When I came home His stomach was distended, (swollen). I caught Him with a net, and brought Him inside. My Cat book said possible Roundworms. So I treated Him for that, but no worms. He eats, drinks, eliminates, and has a temperature of 102.7. Normal is 101.5 to 102.5. He is under My bed. Any suggestions about the swelling? He seems fine. The problem with the vet is that I can not get Him to go inside Our pet carrier. I had to fight like everything to do what I have done. Please any helpful answers. And HE IS NOT A SHE, AND IS NOT PREGNANT, That is the one thing I am very certain about. He is getting old, and has lost some teeth. I call Him Blue.

My friend loves cats, but she has this daily habit if harnessing them and 'walking' them with a leash. They seem to hate it to me, and I joke that she is taking them 'for a drag'....but she says they need to be exersized and to enjoy the outdoors this way...what do you think?

I'm sorry but there are a lot of dumb people on this site who not only are stupid but attempt to make others feel stupid too. I was reading this question and people kept saying take the cat to the vet! Here's my POV, everyone knows that when a cat is in serious trouble, you take him to the vet. You don't say, yes I do. But people come online and ask questions for a reason, to get more info, find possible home remedies (i.e. pepto for upset stomach, I didn't know that until I read the PET forum), the point being people ask to get info beforehand. Sometimes this saves them a trip to the vet othertimes, it prepares them for a trip to the vet, regardless, telling them to take it to the vet really doesn't help especailly when said in a rude manner. Why do people constantly respond to pet questions with take it to the Vet?

I couldnt keep my cat gumdrop anymore, we were moving...so my good friend offered to take him..so i thought he was being very nice ..so i let him take him for me, thinking he would be safe...it turns out that...(one of my other friends told me)...that my god friend that took the cat taped it to the backboard of his basketball hoop and played a game with the cat hanging ther, and after they ate it. No I am not kidding, does this make me a terrible person, and what should I do, I need some advice.

I wonder if anyone here has had any negative experiences with clumping cat litter... I read a brief article sometime ago about a lady's kittens dying because clumping clay cat litter somehow made it into their intestines and clogged them. Is that possible? Can anyone confirm if this is true? Its just that I have switched to clumping litter for odor-control purposes, but I mix it - Oh, I am using "Fresh Step" mixed with some "Johnny Cat." Appreciate any feed back.
