My cat has a congenital disease that gives her ulcerations in her mouth and also causes hair loss on her back legs and belly. She has to have a monthly cortizone shot for it. I think it starts with "Encepholo....." but I am not sure. What the heck is the name of it???

I have a cat twith that also. Not a good long term prognosis. The monthly steriod shots have so many side effects, but I have tried many other ways to manage the condition. The mouth is the worst. Sometimes the poor cat cannot eat well.
My cat is close to becoming diabetic due to the steriods.
Hope yours has better luck!

I can't remember it either. But it isn't my cat so I never heard it in the first place.

That sounds like a hypo-thyroid condition.
