i love cats but my boyfriend doesnt we are always quarreling about pets.so he got a dog. it bit my cat who just had kittens.i took her to the vet the vetenarian said she might not live.it was a serious injury.a week after she died . she was one of my favourite pets. so my boyfriend and i cursed .was i wrong?

This is a very sad story but I'm afraid I don't understand the question because it doesn't sound like you did anything wrong. Your boyfriend shouldn't have gotten that dog especially since your cat just had kittens.

NO, but if your boyfriend doesn't like cats then you should send him out the door. Especially after he let the dog bit the mother cat. He should have taken the responsibility of the dog. Since the cat had kittens they should have been protected better by putting the kittens in a room where the dog could not get to either the mother or kittens. It sounds like he doesn't care about your feelings.

that was totally wrong, a dog around a mama with new babies, i would think about this relationship if he is that insensitive to your needs or wants, if he wants a dog thats fine he is entitled to his pets too, but he should have been more considerate in the issue, not everyone loves the same animals, this was downright negligent and cruel and heartless, please do not let the kittens aound this dog or him...........no your not wrong .....my husband is not a cat lover, but i am and he respects that and does all he can to make my cat comfortable and is concerned with my feelings with something i love so dearly, and he has a dog and if the dog was to hurt the cat he would take measures with dog..what happens if the dog bites a small child some day....will your boyfriend say o well!

I think it's your boyfriend's fault that he didn't TRAIN his dog to tolerate cats. It can be done (I know a couple who love pets, the woman prefers cats, the man dogs, they have a cat and a dog, and they get along SWELL - but they take the effort to train both pets to tollerate each other.)

I think that it's also both of you's fault that you let the dog have unsupervised access to a mother cat. That's a recipe for disaster, as you already know. Until you have sufficient proof that that dog behaves well with cats, don't ever, ever leave him alone together with a cat. I have learned that much from that couple of my friends.

The dog doesn't sound very nice to have around small animals I would suggest getting rid of the dog as the dog has caused the most harm, no you wasn't wrong at all your bf was wrong about getting a dog that would hurt your cat, likely he knew it would attack the cat, in my family if a partner dosen't like cats there the once who go, anyone who wants to join my family has to like cats.

No you were not wrong. Your boyfriend got a dog on purpose to annoy your cats. He knows very well that you cannot expect a new mother who has two kitties to get along with a strange dog. It's ridiculous.

In my opinion, its your boyfriends fault, but thats because I love cats more. However a simple argument between pets is unecessary (Pardon my spelling.) However, even if you did yell at him, you did have SORT of a right, because its natural to be mad at him for something like that, however it also depends if it's your fault by letting the cat near the dog, or his fault for letting his dog go near your cat. Btw, were the kittens newborn, or were they old enough to atleast eat that potted-meat looking catfood?

i think your boyfriend is terrible, there is a saying that cats and dogs will not get along, i think he purposely brought the dog to kill the cat, imagine what happens to all those kittens, i really feel terrible.
