Most likely flea allergy dermatitis, go to Petco or Petsmart and get some frontline ASAP.

Put a generic brand hydrocorisone on the places where the cat has sores.

Ensure you treat the whole house for fleas, e.g. carpet spray etc.

Could be having an allergic reaction to grass, food or fleas. I'd take the cat to the vet and find out.

If the cat doesn't have fleas causing flea bite dermatitis or a hot spot then he or she may have feline hyperesthesia. Here is a link to read up on that. There is a hydrocortisone spray in the pet section for flea bite dermatitis and other allergies that you spray on the area and it helps it to heal. You might want to try that. Good luck.

sounds like flea allergy. my cat always has those symptoms when he gets fleas - that's how i normally find out that he has fleas!!! I rubbed some "Advanatge" on behind his neck a month ago and 'voila!' - hair grew back and no more scratching and fretting at himself becuase no more fleas.

Hope that is all that is wrong with your kitty.

IT COULD BE RINGWORM, BUGS OR SOMETHING HE GOTTEN FROM ANOTHER CRITTER. THE FUR IS GONE BECAUSE HE'S SCRATCHING AT IT. I WOULD BE A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT IT SPREADING OR GETTING THE WORM IF HE HAS THAT. A VET DOESN'T COST THAT MUCH AND WILL HELP A LOT BETTER THAN HERE. HOPE HE GETS BETTER...
